Sighted Escort Carrier - Bogue class - traveling with three destroyers in grid CG75. Fired a spread of three at the carrier from approximately 2400 meters range. All three impacted, one beneath the command deck, two astern. carrier developed a hard list to starboard. Pinged and depth charged all the way down to 220 meters depth. launched several decoys. Every trick in the book was used to evade the escorts.

0540 hours - sinking sounds and secondaries by hydrophone on bearing 130 degrees. Still evading sound location by means of extreme depth and bursts of speed when splashes observed.

0700 hours - evaded escorts, we were undamaged during the engagement.

I'm mid 42 and escorts are still easy but those verdamte planes want give me a brake! Now I was flanking to intercept Einsatzgruppe, dived as first escort in sight. We'll see how it goes.
