Default Triple Ace Laid to Rest

Legendary fighter pilot, retired Brig. Gen. Robin Olds, died June 14 from congestive heart failure one month short of his 85th birthday.

He was a great fighter pilot who became an ace during WWII, Korea and Vietnam if I remember correctly.

I recently saw some shows on the military channel about war heroes and ace fighters in which he was one of those who were profiled including a fight during Operation Bolo. I remember a certain clip where some other pilots were describing an incident during that operation where they came across a number of Mig 21's. He engaged the enemy and got a few kills during the episode. The other pilot being interviewed recalled that as his squadron flew towards his location to help in the battle, Olds basically told them to get lost and go find their own fight somewhere else. He was that fearless.
