That could be T., I really don't know.

I'd have posted this before but I was in the brig when it happened and it slipped by me until today.

He was a great fighter pilot who became an ace during WWII, Korea and Vietnam if I remember correctly.

I recently saw some shows on the military channel about war heroes and ace fighters in which he was one of those who were profiled including a fight during Operation Bolo. I remember a certain clip where some other pilots were describing an incident during that operation where they came across a number of Mig 21's. He engaged the enemy and got a few kills during the episode. The other pilot being interviewed recalled that as his squadron flew towards his location to help in the battle, Olds basically told them to get lost and go find their own fight somewhere else. He was that fearless.

He sounds like my Grandpa...

We need more men of this calibre.

Wasn't he the one pushing so much to get a gun back on fighter aircraft in Vietnam?

He sounded like a hard fightin', hard partyin' kinda guy. Someone I'd look up to especially since he bucked his superiors so much for what he thought they should be doing.

But I'm sure he gave plenty of it to the ones who crossed him!:D It's a sad day to lose such a fine pilot as him!
