Default Ugly sinking animations

I've seen quite a few occasions lately where if a ship really sinks fast by tipping up vertically, as it drops down it sometimes "bumps" into the floor even if the sea is far deeper than a ship-length, then resumes sinking. It's really jarring to see every other ship bounce like a toy in 1000m+ ocean.

Is this known and is there anything that can be done about it? Using 1.4b.

Never seen bump happen. But ships sterns or bows can stich out and never sink when other extremety hits bottom

Hmm. Maybe I'm seeing things or I don't know what proper sinking ship buoyancy characteristics look like.

Do you mean "bounce off the bottom"? I've seen it plenty of times. Ship goes down rapidly, hits the floor, bounces back up and resumes sinking again.

I've seen it several times in deep water ( 1000 + ) but its not bouncing off the bottom ... what it does is start sinking and then the air still within the ship all collects in one spot ( sometimes stren or bow ) and bobs it around for a bit and slowly the air escapes and down she goes ..........

Exactly. It's just weird looking, and it ignores said floor straight after.
