Default Gentlemen, doff your caps....

With respect,

Regret to inform that U-108 has been lost at sea, 11 November 1940 somewhere NW of Ireland with the loss of all hands. The U-bootwaffe mourns another of her aces, Kptlt Karl-Heinz Jager and his valiant men were responsible for the sinking of 54 enemy vessels totalling over 400,000GRT, including the carrier HMS Implacable. Despite the loss of U-108, the resolve of the German people remains unshaken, and we will continue the struggle until the final victory at sea has been won. Remember our comrades on eternal patrol.

We shall fight on following Jager's example (but not that close!).

I don't think this news should be released to the public. Morale wil be crushed.

Today my U somewhat got lost as well. Can't sum up the tonnage, career's already deleted. I plotted a course home, minimized and went away, when I came back: Lost the boat due to collision. What has happened to it - we'll never know.

:hmm:

Probably just be listed as 'Missing' for a few months. Of course the families are going to know their loved ones didn't come home on time...
