NEWS!
New version 3 released: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=111339 ----------------------------------------------------------- Attention on deck! Here is a new and improved version of my Japan Recognition Manual for SH4. Info on the original release is here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=109672 Changes in v2 include: - Improved the cover - Fixed the porked flag dimensions - Reflagged the merchant marine to match flagging in game - Deflagged most of the coastal vessels (they do not fly flags in game) - Added a Credits and Permissions page Download v2 here: http://www.speedyshare.com/932295267.html Since the initial release was so well received, I have decided to expand the manual to cover all vessels modeled in the game. Like the Japan manual, it will follow the vessels shown in the Museum. This will include appropriately allocated merchant marine and coastal vessels for each country. Several Allied countries will be grouped together, to reduce repetition. If you can think of any improvements to the format, please let me know now, before I get too far into the complete manual. No promises on a completion date - the real world occassionally manages to get in the way of this kind of work. ![]() That is all, sailors...dismissed! Last edited by yllekm; 04-10-07 at 06:32 PM. |

Very Nice!:p
Have you read the thread about the in game 3D model data /Config information is actually different from the stock manual? There is a list here with the real numbers so that you get accurate ranges when measuring the Mast height , or Ship length and draft... from CDJP.rar I cant find the OP Krupp also posted on this... __________________________ NKMCS_Akita Displacement=4070 (3936) Mast=29.2 (22.25) __________________________ NKMSS_Biyo Length=121.9 (120) Width=16.1 (15) Draft=7.9 (7.5) __________________________ NOM_Buzyun Width=15.5 (15) Mast=29.7 (30) Draft=8.7 (7.5) __________________________ NPL_Conte_Verde Mast=42.5 (35) __________________________ NKLSS_Hakusika Length=135.6 (120) Width=17.7 (15) Mast=29.5 (30) Draft=8.6 (7.5) __________________________ NOS_Haruna *NOTHING MODIFIED* __________________________ NKMCS_Heito Mast=26.2 (30) __________________________ NPL_Horai Mast=39.7 (33.5) __________________________ NKSSS_Kasagisan MaxSpeed=12 (12.5) Mast=26.9 (22.56) __________________________ NKMSS_Kinposan Length=101.2 (107) Mast=27.5 (23.77) __________________________ NPL_Kiturin Length=130.1 (135.94) Mast=34 (31.7) __________________________ NKLCS_Nagara Length=143.2 (120) Width=18.9 (15) Mast=36.5 (30) Draft=8.3 (7.5) Displacement=7154 (7145) __________________________ NOL_Nippon MaxSpeed=20 (12) Length=159.7 (120) Width=19.8 (15) Mast=28.9 (30) Draft=9 (7.5) Displacement=9974 (10000) __________________________ NKSCS_Taihosan Mast=22.6 (24) __________________________ NPS_Tyohei Mast=22.5 (27.4) Displacement=1713 (1718) __________________________ NKMCS_Zinbu Length=121.9 (120) Width=14.6 (14) Mast=28.4 (24) |

Thanks - I will have a look through the rest of the data files and try to get the correct data for all ships (or are these the only ships where the data is different?)
Adding length and width to the data in the manual seems to make sense. I will poke around in the data files and try to extract for all ships. |

Ship dimensions found it. Maybe it does not affect those in your Manual. ![]() Length is very nice for those who like to compute TDC data with other methods. GreyOctober Quote:
But it was determined and proved the printed manual values are indeed wrong. Using the Config data numbers, the range was correct using the Stadimeter in game 3D. If you do this work -you have a better Recon Manual than what Ubisoft screwed the Canadian out of (plus USA only got the poster -I wanted the EU booklet type Manual but too expensive to ship over here 100 USD ). I am going to release a v3 of the manual as soon as I can get all of the printed lenghths and widths of the Japanese vessels - only a few more needed. I don't want to use the ones in the cfg files because some are apparently wrong (see http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=109953).
I only have the Canadian version of the game though so no printed recog manual of poster. Waiting for Krupp or someone to post the missing Japanese data. I am going to hold off on doing the rest of the ships in the game until my US copy of the game arrives with the recog poster so that I have published dimensions of all ships (unless someone wants to post all of the published dimensions here for me). p.s. I am also going to do a metric version of the manual. I will do the v3 of the Japanese one before I do all of the other ships. |

Just tried to download rec man from http://www.speedyshare.com/932295267.html. Link works, but the link on the page that opens (to download the .pdf) gives an error.

News posted in #1 above.
Question: If I do an edit to update news on a mod or post a new version rather than posting way down in the thread or creating a new thread, how do I get it bumped up? |
