.I opened dds form file with SH4 tool DDS Converter 2 , the file that a lot of SH4 did not need finally, these files were all picture files of SHE interfaces .

Slient Hunter 4 (or, to keep Drebbel happy, Silent Hunter IV) was built on the foundation of Silent Hunter 3 (III) so it would be normal to find some carried over files.

Why invent everything from the ground up when a lot of it is already there?

Did you say SH4 tool dds converter? Is there a tga to dds converter supplied with SH4?
I have removed SH4 till I can afford a better Video card but had been searching everywhere for a converter that works! Keeping my fingers crossed for a positive response!

Most Excellent Dude!

Thanks! That is great news, I have played around with a PS plugin but the files always end up HUGE, converting for example a 5meg TGA to a dds file 72meg (24bit) or 120meg (32bit), just a tad larger! Hopefully the supplied converter works better.
Cheers.

You could always D/L the nvidia plugin for photoshop that opens up the .dds without the need of converting them.

Hi dowly, I was trying to convert my SH3 version of the Nav Bearing Tool that is a tga file to dds, & yes I used an nvidia dds plugin for PS, but produced the rather large files!

Sh4 is more an stand alone expansion than a new game.

this explain the extra sh3 files in the folders. and they don´t have any time to erase the unused files or they sent to gold the wrong copy :rotfl:

I don't know if it's by mistake or by design, but those files being included on sh4 allows for much less legal problems porting sh3 to the new engine.
