Default latest SH3 experience (funny)

I was in my Type VII on the surface when suddenly a torpedo bomber was coming down at me carrying a torpedo! I went to flank speed and ordered a crash dive.

a few seconds after clearing about 70 meters i hear

"Torpedo in the water bearing 190!"

"WHAT?!" ok so down to 70 meters that swordfish prolly dropped a straight running steam powered torpedo... but suddenly the torpedo dives to 70 meters and homes in on my prop sounds! its an acoustic homing torp!!!

ok? wtf? hard to port and dive to 150 meters and then just go totally quiet and the torpedo will sail harmlessly above since it has no sound to chase.

NOT

i get to 150 meters - i shut everything down to quiet then suddenly the torpedo switches from passive acoustic homing to ACTIVE SONAR HOMING Ping.... ping.... ping .... ping getting faster louder and closer!

crap! deploy decoys! ahead flank! blow ballast!

The second i switched on the engines the pinging stops and it switches back to passive tracking and it zooms past the decoys and follows me toward the surface!!!!

now im in a situation where if i turn the engines off and rig for silent running, this friggin uber torpedo will ping me all the way to impact, but if i run from it it will follow me until it eventually catches up to me.

crap what am i going to do?!

then.... suddenly....

MY ALARM CLOCK GOES OFF - shwew it was just a dream

think im playing SH3 too much :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good one! Had me going for a bit thinking what the..

Once I had a dream my ex-wife married a genuine Uboat Kaluen, complete with the while hat, beard, iron cross & uniform. They had bought all the property around me and were closing in! Found them wondering around in my back yard - ever so happy to wake up that day.

You've been playing too much SH3, watching Hunt for the Red October, and sleeping too little!!

At least it hasn't spilled out into your work place. Some people here have yelled out "ALAM" at there workplace and have had many other side effects of being addicted to this game.

Time for you to play some solitare my friend, and get an early nights sleep!
