v1.2 screenshots : torp training *56k Warning*
*56k Warning! Graphics!*
Here's a series of 'free cam' screen-shots taken in version 1.2 of 'Silent Hunter IV'. The shots were taken from the torpedo training session using Fraps to capture the images. Click on the smaller images shown here to see the full-sized (1680x1050) .jpg's. Some detail was lost by converting these to .jpg files, but I kept the compression to a minimum so the full-sized variants are somewhat large files. To start with, a couple views of our main weapon, the torpedo... ![]() ![]() The following series is self-explanatory... torpedoes enroute to the target, and the result. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ... and finally, following the rapidly sinking cruiser to the murky depths: ![]()

Yes, PPF was on for the screen-shots. I usually turn it off for actual combat missions though. The idea here was to get into the 3D world at my monitor's native 1680x1050 resolution and snag some pics proving that version 1.2 does indeed use higher resolutions now.
Re: AA/AF, etc. I have them at very low levels (2x each IIRC) through my video drivers. I could crank those up, and I probably will at some point in the future when "shutter-bug-itis" gets me. But for actual game-play, I accept a certain amount of "jaggies" for increased frame rates. FWIW, general system specs:
Plus the usual laundry list of other stuff...
