Default National tragedy in Germany

Got ya!

Quote:
I grew up with Dachshunds. They're very intelligent, very faithful and they're exceedingly good actors. When it's raining outside and they don't want to go walkies they pretend to be ill. And they're brave. My Dachshund takes on any dog regardless of how big he is and says 'I'm the boss!'
I can only confirm that. My parents used to have dogs, as well as my grandfather, who held a complete pack of various hunting dogs. We had two Dackel (or Teckel, both names are more popular in Germany for the Dachshund). Both were unbelievable courageous, and repeatedly scared the hell out of other dogs who by mistake were assuming they were the king of all bullies around. To see one of our Dachshunds taking on a shepard dog, a Rottweiler or another dog of that size, was not a rare event. It also was not always left to balking and intimidating. And where their were fights, David won against Goliath. Plenty of irritated, once-proud-now-ashamed dog owners, that meant!

We also sometimes observed that while one of our Dackel was taking on another dog, the other Dackel just sat down and whatched his comrade beating the hell out of his victim. dachshunds not necessarily fight when their is a fight. They only fight when they want to. No matter if there is already a fight, or not

Small dwarfs with great hearts and plenty of character. Also an annoying tendency to behave like ballerinas. what to expect of a dog that is expected to attack into a badger's sett and scare him out - and if the badger is stubborn, fight with him? It often happens that both animals get stuck that deep inside the sett that the hunter needed to grab a shovel and dig him out. (Dachshund= badge-dog). If I would live in according place, i would have several dogs and cats. Shepard dogs, Huskies, Terriers maybe, and of course Dachshunds.

I also know who probably would tyrannize the pack!

Our "Kämpfer-Henny" back then in the 80s. Looks so sweet and harmless, but once fought down a Dobermann. We had a Collie, and a second Dackel (black, short hair), too, the latter was so muscular that it felt like stroking a tree trunk.
