Default sailing in heave storms in contrary wind

I used to have trouble sailing in heavy storms with the winds at certain angles to my U-boat. But I finally learned to use the snorkle to get around this - I found all you need do is run with it up as you sail on the surface. That keeps the diesels going - which keeps the chief from trying to recharge the batteries every time a huge wave forces the electrics to run for a few seconds.

It would Jim it increases your radar signature some what same with running with your scopes up bad idea remember thats what radar picks up the returning echo from objects above the water.

Work the radar detector mounted on the top of the snorkel if is raised at surface ??? it in real world could help increase range detection ?

Schnorkel??? What's that? We don't have those in 1942 and as far as I can tell from my patrols, the war always ends in 1942 for your crew...not well, either...

Are you talking about SH4???
