Is this the one that costs about GBP1.95 for the first issue then about 5 quid for the rest of them, collect 1250 issues to finish getting the parts for the model?:rotfl:

Sorry, couldn't help taking the mick. I've started a few of these collections and never finished one usually because I can't buy the magazines anywhere after about issue 5.

Good luck with it if you can stick it out. BTW I think GBP2500 is a lot of money for a model no matter how big it is.

I've already built the Bismarck waterline series, Had it on backorder for 7 months but it was worth it. this was 15 years ago. I still have the Bismarck but the rest that i built got trashed over the years.

It would be cheaper to purchase the Plastic model version of the Bismark.

the advert says first issue 50p, rest 4.99 per. at 140 issues, the model runs out at £694.11 and you build it yourself. For that price, I'd expect a model built for me and big enough to sit in and sail!

I was going to start a thread about this...because I was thinking about it too. But yes...if you add it up it's absurd. You have to collect every issue for nearly 3 years...miss one and that's it. And it'll cost you a fortune. Anyone else notice it's not really a reputable company doing this...if I'm not mistaken? By reputable I mean DeAgostini and others who do these weekly things.

Sounds like a rip-off...
