Application to Join AVGWarhawk's Club

Dear Sir,
On 06 December 1940 while in command of U-108 (IXB) on its 2nd patrol I and the whole bloody lot of my crew got killed.

Hereby I apply for membership to your shabby but growing club of 2nd patrol losers.

The qualifying circumstances for this request are as follows:

Intercepted convoy shadowed by U-boats. Could not see any escorts except one Black swan on opposite side of convoy full of juicy targets. After leasurely studying the victims, I realized this was a Kaleun's wet dream. Stop engines, have a duck shoot.

Fired one torpedo at munitions ship in opposite side of convoy then 3 magnetics at closer ships. Munitions ship, bang! Gone, 3 magnetics failed to explode.

Down to 90 meters (that's all I had). Hehehehe, 15 minutes , no escorts bugging us.

I bit later, I would attack this convoy again, just before dawn.

32 minutes after I launched torpedoes, here comes the Black Swan, straight for the datum point from where I launched my torpedoes and where I am still there quiet as a mouse. Ping, ping, ping, Boom, boom, boom.

Do I need to say more?
Sir, I did write 500 times "I will not attack a convoy in shallow water.
I also wrote 500 times, "I will never again stick around my firing point." (AI's Datum).

Dear Sir, please accept me into your club.
I remain your faithful corpse,

Welcome Aboard Brag! At least we are man enough to admit that we only make it to the second patrol You are the new Chief Executive Officer or just CEO for short. Right this way to your office, it's in the bilge.

Actually I'm on my second patrol, 1940, IXB. So far I have 41857 tons sunk. I have 8 torpedos left to use. Hopefully I can add some more tonnage and make it home for a successful patrol #2. That is a BIG HOPEFULLY for me. I learned about shallow waters over the weekend. 96m and pinged to hell, DC'd to death....patrol number 2

You will all be believers sooner or later when it comes to the Patrol #2 Your Dead club. If you act now we will include monthly news letter and jacket patch free!

Letter from the bilges:

Dear Onkel Karl,
I can't find that nice, shiny U-Boat you gave me. To remain a member in good standing in the 2ndPYAD Club, I need another type IX sumbie. Please send one to Lorient ASAP. Bernard asks if you could include a pair of teddy bear pajamas and bunny slippers.

Eagerly awaiting to go on patrol again

I personally must pass my resign to the Club President. However I've tried hard, I was not successful. In my 4 careers I was sunk in: third, nineth, first and now more than second patrol (still alive). I think that makes me persona non grata among you, guys... :rotfl:

We never forget our own. At one time or another we were photographed and hung on "The Wall of Shame". You are still an honorary member. You are still allowed to attend meetings but we will have to remove your bumper sticker stating you are in the club.

Eureka! It was the sticker that saved my life so many times!
