BdU; "Keep up the Good Work!"

Probably a pipe dream but wouldn't it be nice if BdU was a bit smarter?
How about adjusting your patrol grid in early war in case you use a bunch of eels on your course? So now I'm going to burn fuel to go around Scapa Flow to the approaches or where ever with 4 or less fish? Maybe I should try the re-supply mod instead but again this is early `40 and cows are not out yet right? Heck 1st. Flotilla hasn't moved either. Ok so it's a game and I wind up devising my own patrol at times. Im just wondering if this affects renown. I mean you use up all your eels anyway and if your tonnage is good whats the difference? I have even scored an extra merchant or two on the way back to base with the deck gun, after BdU says to return. Later on I don't expect that to be a constant.
So basicly I have two msg's, it is tempting to just ignore them. But there is always that possible Convoy notice. So at a minimum I remember somewhere or somehow there is a way to randomize and / or add custom msg's from BdU.
For example; "Good shooting!" or "Your next case of warm British Lager is on us!"
If someone could point that out I would appriciate it.
btw; regarding custom msg's - not wanting to crash the game I would presume there may be a limit.
Thanx!

Hi,
Get yourself GWX. There's plenty of radio traffic in it. You'll love it if you're looking for something else than "Keep up the good work"... that's for sure.

Perhaps I should clarify something, is it possible to add your own custom bdu msg's?
Anyone?

See the link below, it works. I had the same issue. Some other good random mods are
Tikigods Randome pin-ups and random intro screens.

Thank you, looks as if I may need to look into installing SH3 Comander at some point.

If you don't already have GWX, get it as well. Lots of possibilities with SHCommander, to edit text, you do it in the .cfg file with note pad, pretty much script what
you want

September, 1939 in GWX I can't even warp for 10 seconds real time without receiving yet another notice about prize regulations...but it beats the two only messages you'll ever get back from BdU in 1.4b.

So far so good, using the example of the Randomised events.cfg and tooling with that has produced some success! Getting used to & learning SH3Commander along the way. I belive with enough tweeks in time this should make up for BdU's (game mechanics) inability to adjust your patrol due to depletion and or success.

Also having some fun with the messages_en.txt file. Back-ups of all pre-edited files done of course.

I've been having some fun with this

And then some other jazz..

Hence, I've gotten into a project for carrer radio msg's that for the most part involves a timeline for a game enhancement.

Such as (example)
