Default Bit of Help Shipmates

Ahoy Shipmates, i need a little advice:-

Im on my 18th Patrol off a little port in Canada called Argentia in June of 41.
After sinking an armed trawler moored up I decided to head away but ive come up against an American torpedo boat which is causing me trouble flying about at 41 knots.
My batteries are now completely flat and im down to 50% of oxygen, and the crew are looking worried.
To top it off my sonar operator is picking up closing warships from the South, probobly the cavalry of a DD knowing my luck.
If I surface and try to run for it the torpedo boat will surely send me and my fine crew to the bottom of the Canadain seabed, if i sit it out theres a good chance my men will all sufficate as the ocean fills up with searching destroyers.

I think im proper screwed

June '41? Than Germany is not war with the USA. The Elco should not bother you, although it might radio your presence (?). I'd say: Surface and try to recharge your batteries as much as possible before other enemy warships arrive.

Default Nasty!

No aces up your sleeve. I'd keep the speed down to one knot and head out hugging the bottom and hope for the best.

I believe the armed trawler i sank in a Canadian port was American, as for sneaking away....i have not battery power, not even enough to power a torch.
A Somers class destroyer has passed over, I have now surfaced, 4knots and at patrol quiet state sneaking away from the port with fingers crossed, will keep you informed.

Seems like i may have done, but whats in an enemy port is fair game in my opinion, looks like i may be paying for it now though

I will get out of this mess im sure, just playing the waiting game now, its about oxygen and patience.....as an experienced U Boat Commander im sure I can outwit the Americans

If im going to end up on the seabed im taking a few Americans with me

If you sink a neutral ship then that country will consider you an enemy for 24hours
Now you aint gonna last that long so its either reduce to 1 kt and try to move away or go down in a blaze of glory

As the first US uboat kill of the war :rotfl:
