You know those seemingly useless radio messages that says who did to whom at where from other sub or ships, do they serve any real function other than to break your time compression?
One time I receive a message saying that such a u-boat sank Royal Oak at where. Do I actually get to see the ship and the sinking if I were there? |

these radio messages are for immersion and realism. most of them have no bearing in the game which will effect the player in any way other than to provide them with the sensation that there is a lot of other u-boat activity out there in the world.
there is a mod which reduces the radio traffic in GWX. though i dont immediately know where it is.

there it is. you will only receive messages relevant to actual GWX scripted events. no more "sunk tanker damaged another for 8500 tons" or "sinking - request assistance - S.S. Thalia" etc etc.
