Ahoy shipmates im in need of a little help if you please.
Recently my chief engineer has stopped calling out orders such as crash dive, emergency surface and speed orders half ahead etc. Initially i put this down to my mods or SH3 Cdr, i read the instructions about time compression etc, still no luck. So i uninstalled everything, wiped the folders etc and did a full clean install, and it still happens with vanilla SH3 and with GWX installed afterwards. I have reinstalled my sound card drivers etc and still no luck ![]() Any help much appreciated. |

Wow! the Same problem happened to me on the same day. if anyone knows what to do here it would be greatly appreciated. I too did a complete re-install back to vanilla. No one is calling out orders or even moving there mouths.

Same problem here, popped up two days ago, tracked it down to my antivirus, avast, putting the lipsync file in the virus chest for some unknown reason. Restored it and my crew found their voices again.

Same here.
Just re-installed with GWX a couple of days ago. First patrol gave me the floating eyeballs, and all subsequent patrols missing sounds. Same problem as you, Flakmonkey. |

Avast did it to me too last night. I found it and restored it after reading Flakmonkey's post.

HW3, are you using Avast also, or a different antivirus? Wondering if the problem is unique to that AV, or more wide-spread.

Ahoy mates!
After many years I fired up SH3 /GWX again for a play through, to relive the thing again, but only to encounter this problem. I could not locate the lipsync.act file and it is difficult for me to go home and dig out the SH3 DVDs so I was hoping I could find the file somewhere on the internet but no luck so far (the Avast virus vault was empty). I need the file to get my sonar's voice back so he can help me in real time dodge those depth charges. Not sure where to look for the file now. ![]()
