Default How do you use Time Compression?

Hi all,
What, if any, Time Compression values do you adhere to and why do you do it that way?
I travel at 1024 just to get there faster. I then slow down to 128 or 64 to patrol an area.
How do you use TC?

Thanks

Here's my standards. They're not rigidly adhered to, more of a guideline.

Far outside enemy waters (Australia, Midway to Pearl): As high as I can, decreasing near port
Outside enemy waters: 2048
Near enemy waters: 1024
Transferring between patrol areas: 512
While actually patrolling: 256

I've never had an issue automatically coming back to real-time on contact, so I generally crank it as high as I can

There has been some theorizing that you miss contacts if you're running on high time compression, in addition to aircraft appearing so fast that they're already right on you before time compression shuts off. Near port, I turn down time compression because the game gets jumpy while calculating all the traffic.

I run it at 8000 and if it gets jittery then I hit backspace to drop it to 1.

Max 4096 (open water long distance travel)
Near land 256
Hunting 64
Home waters 2048
Enemy waters 1024

And I only increase time compression on the nav and attack map screens
.

Same here as that only happens when you're near a Task Force or a Convoy. This isn't SH3 where going at max TC causes you to miss stuff. Though personally I do run SH3 at max TC and never had a problem myself so i'm thinking the missing stuff is more how fast your computer can process it then the game itself.
