I am an old hand Silent Hunter fan - played all versions since the first - kind of gave up in despair after SH5 and none too thrilled at what I've read/seen re SHOnline - why does the publisher like to ignore the potential player with such a passion, why don't they just listen!
Anyway - I've the profoundest respect for all who play SH and for the modding crew who despite the best efforts of the publishers have made such a valiant effort to make the game playable, or at least interesting I gave up in despair well over a year ago, thank heaven for Eve Online, Stalker and Metro, Total War Etc to name a few - however I always wondered if the modders ever made a breakthrough with SH When last I was on Subsim there was rumored to be new ships, (Iambecomelife) more crew, (cant remember who did this one), better more realistic game play - Sure there were great leaps in environmental effects and some eye-candy - but when I last bothered the game remained resolutely unable to simulate the Atlantic war in any of the theater, or era. So the question is where are things now? Is the game play realistic, if you attack an allied ship, or convoy do the enemy come looking for you - and if they do does the end result rely on tactics or simply statistics I guess those of you who have been around for a while know where I'm coming from - the simple question - Has there been any progress or is this all just so much of a waste of time Best regards and best wishes to all at Subsim Rascal |
