Looking for a proof reader/fact checker...

As some know I'm writing a paper for my History class on the history of the submarine and I would like a volunteer or two to look over my paper and make sure I didn't make any mistakes (grammatically or factually).

I'll be happy to proofread. Fact-checking may be beyond my ability, depending upon the detail and scope of your paper.

Heh. Scope. Get it?

Hell, I would also like to volunteer - better to have 8 eyes than 6 (no offense if one of you is a pirate )

my qualifications:
- nitpicking, Grammar Nazi
- I touched a submarine last year

Depending on the length of the paper, I may not be able to respond to you before Saturday, so if you want to submit the paper tomorrow, I won't be much help.

That reminds me of a story my Mom told me years ago!
Mom lost an eye when she was very young so at that time all you got was a wooden eye. (Plastic was not wide spread back then)

She went to a School dance one nite and wanting to dance she asked
this guy she was keen on if he would like to dance with her.
(He had lost a leg in a farming accident and had a wooden leg)
He responded,
Would I! Would I! Would I!

She responded,
PegLeg! PegLeg! PegLeg!
And walked away never to talk to him again.

I'll take it just for something to read If you're OK with that

For you or anyone else wants to look it over PM me an email to send it to that address. I'll be looking for volunteers for the next day or so, after that I don't want to be sending out papers since I might not get suggestions back before I need to finalize the paper.

The paper is due on the 28 so there is time.

Revised and fully-edited Udersealcpl version sent to your e-mail in the most expedient manner possible. We aim to please

That said, I will again remind you to delete the comments in asterisks and read the whole paper. I'd hate to be responsible for the submission of a paper that includes commentary on the paper itself by someone other than the author. I have a feeling that won't go over well with your professor.

about half way through... should have it to you by sunday or so.

And i would recommend not using anybodies version to write the final draft, but just print them out and edit your original. That way USlCpl's fear won't come true.

Excellent read!

If I could suggest a book to use as a source?

Check out : Red November "Inside the Secret US-Soviet Submarine War.
by W. Craig Reed.

Offers insight into the actions of Cold War submarine warfare, information on the Boresight and and Bulls Eye programs (who is father headed) , Foxtrot submarine action during the Cuban Missile Crisis, the collision between USS Drum and Soviet Victor III Submarine K-324 (in which he was present) as well as the Opeartion Ivy Belle program (which I believe he may have done as well, can't remember. Either he was there or had testimonial interviews with some of the divers who were.

I picked it up at Indigo book store for something like 15$. Definitely a great read.

You probably did you old fart!
But my Mom did have a wooden eye due to an accident when she was young.
And she conned me many times when I was young by placeing a Glass eye on the fridge and saying she could see me!
