Lt Commander Lare's official silent hunter 5 review
Ok here is my review after completing the game i have quite a few issuses with the game first all the AI in the game is terrible you can go right through a convoy without a scratch sink some ships re arm and do it all over again, So that needs work also the the crew lose there morale during a save and when you load the game the morale is gone another bug reported already the graphics are outstanding and with the modders improving them the game will no doubt rock, this game at least in my opinion needs at least 2 more patches and when you try and dock at your base to have to save the game and then reload it just to dock is terrible.
The sound in the game needs work it sounds more like an arcade game then a submarine game silent hunter 4 has better sounds then silent hunter 5 there is no shouting of alarm during crash dive like in das boot which happened on real uboats as well, So that needs to be fixed and there are many graphic glitches that ubisoft needs to fix after all it is there product the modders should not have to fix everything on this game so here are my official ratings on the game graphics 80% sound 60% enemy AI 20% crew response 90% medals and promotions 10% was only awarded a few medals and not promoted once like real u boat skippers uboat interior 90% uboat upgrades 10% campaign replay 10% after my ratings review this title needs alot of work and might i add there was no uboat that was ordered to sink battleships and carriers and destroyers there primary was merchant ships if there was an opportunity then im sure they took it but they did not go out looking for aircraft carriers or battleships thats where the campaign missions are flawed so my official view on silent hunter 5 is this ![]() Lt Commander Lare |

This is my point of view graphics 50% ( could be much better, DX 9 game and there is DX 11) sound 30% ( Lousy area of effect sound and some are not realistic) enemy AI 0% ( what fricking AI, Its non) crew response 10% ( Dont let me run down a ladder an face up someone to tell him what to do, and he refuse cus his morale is low) Medals and promotions 10% was only awarded a few medals and not promoted once like real u boat skippers uboat interior 90% uboat upgrades 10% (More uboats and accurate upgrade despite timeline) campaign replay 0% ( Stupid campaign, What happend to the simulator game, Arcade stylis now)

Well even if it can sound tedious its more realistic for a simulator game. The subs had thier patroling grids, and just a few of them ancounterd some ships. Some subs was travelling around the holw war and never sank a ship. But this is a game and it have to be so that you the captain do all sinkng the germany did. But to give orde to sink x amount of battle ships and cariers is just silly. A simulator game should reflect all aspects, and just not to simulate the veichle you are in, and to handle. It must have realistic content or its nor a simulator anymore.

I have complete faith that someone will come up with a "more realistic" campaign file once the playability patches are done. |

Ive made a mod that lite up the goals a bit and ive seen what the goals are and they are so silly. When i found out that one campaign had a goal that go to amercain waters and sink 500,000 ton. I just cramped. Imagine all thos long runs you have to do back and forth just becuse you are out of torpedoes and ammo. And artic waters, sink 50 ships. Being sent to a random grid square for 24 hours is more compelling gameplay and less arcadey Well we still have thos goals in the game even thou they are finished whit in 24 hours time and no matter if you sink anything you are succesful. The mission goals in this game is the same, we can get thos micro goals, that was our headgoals before. Insertion, patrol are etc. But you only get one microgoal / patrol. I wouldnt mind if we could get orders to get a new microgoal when we accomplish the first. And then the campaing goal that to sink 100,000 ton could count for all grmany subs, hey they said we should have wolfpacks. The campaingns just need to be tweaked a bit. And dont get me wrong, Iam not a nay sayer. I just couldnt adjust my self to to this game that i was used to from sh3,4. I have fait in the modders, ![]()

Does the above post mean that, as in SH4, we'll have to shut off realistic fuel use as some of the destinations are too far away to reach without stopping for Diesel #2? Not again! SECOND nasty inheritance from SH4! First, of course, are the non-attacking aircraft who slam dunk one out of TC, but never do anything else.

I would agree i marked them 80% becuase im sure the modders here were going to make improvments that would make it more outstanding then it already is but as it stands the graphics is the only highlight of the game and walking around in the uboat is the second i think that is pretty cool but the rest needs alot of work but I think the modders here will improve all of that.

but this is your second review, just to make that clear. It shows that you have given the game som serious playtime and the total score is way lower. I would like some more text though. Please mark your sentences with endings, dots.
