Fire Bug (rant)...

Some people are just so f-ing brainless that they deserve to shot & p*ssed on. And I'd gladly do it myself. Rant below...

Some utterly useless waste of space, piece of sh*t, etc. has been getting into my building & setting fires. We've had at least 6 garbage room fires in the past 2 weeks. This morning about 2 am he/she/it lit another one. After getting up I looked out the peep-hole of my apt. door and I couldn't see down the hall because the smoke was so thick. Put on some shorts & a shirt and went down the hall to see if my neighbour was okay. Pounded on her door but I couldn't get any answer. Not a good sign. Came back to my place & phoned my neighbour. Fortunately she picked up after several rings so I told her what was going on & to stay put. By this time some other tenant had called the fire department and they were here putting out the fire.

It's bad enough when crack addicts get in & set off the fire alarms but this is way over the line. This piece of sh*t won't be happy until he kills someone. I swear that living in this building has taken years off of my life. I've been here going on 14 years & it feels like I'm serving a life sentence (Inmate # xxx). I wish that I could move but I just can afford it.

Guess that's my little rant for today. Thank you for listening.

One very p*ssed off camper...

I hope the Arson Investigator is checking the surrounding area for DNA "samples". Not uncommon with this type of crime.

Arson is one of those crimes that I personally think deserves Life in Prison. And it it causes an injury or death, Death Penalty. A society can't allow arsonists loose in society.

The fire department & police are looking at a "person of interest" but they can't prove anything yet. It could be any one of a number of low-lifes who inhabit this area. Could be some idiot who is p*ssed off because he was ripped off by a drug dealer living in the building. There are a number of "well known to the police" types living here but that's a rant for another day...

I live pretty close to downtown Toronto; a few blocks away from Yonge Street, aka "Fun Street". Unfortunately the area that I live in is run down & seedy. The neighbourhood is overrun with drop-in centres so it attracts a lot of trash. The church just down the street from me causes a lot of problems by handing out free meals & clothing to the addicts so there's no incentive for them to get off drugs & straighten themselves out. I may sound harsh but the garbage that these addicts have put us decent tenants through snuffed out any sense of sympathy that I once had for them a long time ago.

Like I said before, I wish that I could move out of the area but I just can't afford it.

Whats with everyone and cussing lately?

I sympathise with you though, Murr. Unfortunately, I doubt when I study psychology I'll make dent in the nuances of man.

Murr, stay safe my friend - may you be protected and watched over through this.

With that said - if you can, let a trusted neighbor know your going to be up and keeping watch for a few nights (so your not picked up as the arsonist), make sure your armed, and solve the problem yourself. Technically - the person is trying to burn down your home, thus your within your rights to cap them in self defence. At least, you would in in the US, don't know about Canadian law though.

Handy hint on Canadian law (as an RCMP Officer informed me after I caught someone breaking into my car in my driveway). You are not allowed to strike the person (so shooting is also out), you are allowed to restrain them and should they come to harm fighting restraint that is not your fault. In layman's terms that means you cannot punch him, but if while you are holding him he contacts the ground or a wall very hard, that is ok. Remember, you can't hit him, but you can make him hit things

Fire Bugs aren't that well liked here in Australia. The last big bushfire we had here in Victoria Killed over 160 people and it's believed that half the fires were started by scum like this.

One got caught by some off duty police and firefighter here in NSW when the fires were raging in Victoria. I'm surprised that he was taken in one piece, as no one would have said anything if he had come in battered and bruised!

Thanks for everyone's thoughts & that tip. I'm not about to take one of these idiots on. I don't want a criminal record because I hit one of these turds. Unfortunately they have rights too. I just called my landlord's private security company to ask them to get rid of 2 of these buggers who are hanging around in the stairwell; I saw them just now as I was going down the hall to do my laundry. Whether the security guards turn up is 50-50 but at least I did something constructive.

Sounds like you need to do soemthing that all the other idiots handling this mess are not - Go get yourself a wireless cam and have it record only when movement is detected. Video proof is all they need to put an end to these idiots.

Some cams can be found here for cheap:

How about "he was fleeing and he ran into my bullet?" :rotfl:

At the least, I was trying to restrain him and he somehow came into contact with a baseball bat that was lying on the floor, repeatedly and violently until his skull cracked and he lost consciousness?

Seriously though, best be safe - the camera idea is a good one.
