It's been general (no pun intended) practice to have the Stars and Stripes as the background for these kinds of photos... It's not like she was sitting in front of Guantanamo Bay or something... I can imagine she was sitting at a desk originally (as cited in the article) and it was not convenient to pose elsewhere. So they replaced the background. Big deal... It ain't like the Iranian ICBM thing...  Quote:
