Default Aft Tubes refuse to load

GWX 2.1 Type IXB

After a long tangle with 2 flowers, I finally disptached them and get a chance to lick my wounds and reload, for the aft tube, I only have the three external spares. the first two loaded inside without problem, but they just refuse to be loaded into the firing tubes.

I had tried going in and out of silient mode as well as turning auto loading mode on and off, I even try to drag to torpedoes to the tubes manually, none work. any ideas?

Situation:

Both Aft tudes are currently empty, all battle damage fixed. Silent mode off, running on the surface with good weather.

Thanks for the suggestion. But I decided to do it the historical way: go back to base and make a complaint to the ordinance department and flotilla command. It really suck when you finally dispatch all the escorts of a convoy and can't fully take advantage of the situation, those 3 torps will have to wait their turn the next patrol.

I know it's too late to help you now but I have four questions for you:

1. How many crew were in the stern torpedo room?
2. How big was the 'green' bar showing efficiency? Above or below 60%?
3. Did you have an officer (with or without 'torpedoman' qualification) in the stern room?
4. Did you do an external camera check to see if the torpedo doors were closed, or press 'w' to shut them manually?

You could have tried crash diving to 70m, going to silent running mode, back to PD then out of silent running

I guess that is a bug in IXB, and it happened to me a few times. Turning on the Auto-reload fixed it for me (normaly I keep the Auto-reload off).

There's another bug, when you're loading the external stern torpedoes, the tooltip says that there's not enough men in the bow compartment, but the torpedo loads nevertheless.

- Stern torpedo room is at full efficency, specialized officer and 2 WO all with GC award.

Maybe I should have try number 4. I will try that the next time I encounter this problem. If that is indeed the case, it's quite odd, I follow the same firing procedure for my fore tubes and they function without problem...

I can assure you there is no IXB torpedo related 'bug' in GWX2.1.

Many people tested the mod for many hours before it was released.

Far more likely anything wanting in the installation is down to thied party applications.

I remember once using the external camera, I noticed one of my stern torpedo doors remained open after firing its eel. I kept watching and it didn't close automatically. Torpedo room was at full efficiency (just like yours) but no reloading of that tube took place until I closed the door manually by pressing the 'W' key. Reloading started immediately.

I'm glad to hear that. I asume that by third party application you mean mods? :hmm:

I don't think that tubes automaticaly close after fireing. They will close after you select another tube in the periscope screen.

Yes, I mean mods.

Selecting another tube will/should automatically close your previously selected tube door.

The damage of the torpedo tubes alone is not indicated in the F7 screen only the damage of the compartment itself. I rely on monitoring the msgbox for damages or finished repaires regarding the tubes. Start repairing the aft torp compartment and wait for the "tube x repaired" msg. It will be repeated for all tubes which were damaged.
