Default Too Much Fun!

Morning all,

Just had to share a little of my current game, Nov. 39 in grid BF19, and all of a sudden my first convoy. I got in perfect position, and sent an eel into the first of the only 2 DD's protecting the convoy......Boom. The second one came racing in and off goes another eel....Boom. No more threats, I surface and there are roughly 20 ships now unescorted. Quite a few whale factory ships, Ammunitions ships, and large freighters.

Its about 10am and clear skies, sea as smooth as glass, my boat is having a field day.

56,000 tons and have 90 deck rounds left & 5 eels, have sunk the major ships, but over half of them still to go.

Sent the report of the location to BDU. I have played this game for 3 years and this has never happened before.

Thanks to all of you for the great GWX and mods.

Yeah, 1939. Try that in 1943. Sink the escorts, which now have super sonar, then surface to find the merchants all have more and bigger guns than you do!
:rotfl:

Good job though!

Default I bet

I cant imagine trying to do this later in the war, I D/L'd the latest atmospheric mod and the sound is great, really pulls you into the game.

I have been wondering if it was worth it to get SHIV, but with all the mods, and then looking at the screen shots of it, SHIII looks just as good now, plus I'd rather be in the Atlantic as a german any day!

Hey dont dicourage him it will be still possible til late '41 at night. Gunners of merchants are worthless unless a searchlight get a fix on ure position and even then hardly hit anything unless ure running a straight course.

Well Done!

I only managed to get rid of all escorts once while shadowing a Freetown comvoy for well over two weeks in early 1941. That was some patrol, action every night, except for a few days with fog & rain.

Default Thats great.....

I want to try the mod that alerts you to the historical naval events so you can take part. I have been hanging around Dunkirk, its Nov. '39. Hoping to assist in making sure that the majority of the British Expeditionary Force ends up in the Drink!

On a side note, in real life one of the people who sailed his schooner across to assist in the rescue of the british soldiers was Office Lightoller, 1st officer of the Titanic

Good luck! By November '39 the majority of the BEF were already in France. They didn't go in via Dunkirk (that was on the way out) but through Calais, Boulogne and Cherbourg. Looks like you've 'missed the boat!' I wouldn't hang around Dunkirk for very long, it's too shallow and infested with ASW things.

Default Naturally

Well, I guess I'll have to move on to more exciting waters!

I D/L'd the Mission orders in hopes of being a part of the major events if I'm near them.

Thanks
