Laptop problem

I can't play the game on my laptop console.It has Geforce 9300 M GS grafic card on it.When I run the game I can see the ubisoft amblem , and the game cinematic at the begining but then the game crashes and monitor become black screen.My system: Core to Duo T 5850 2.16 GHZ 2mb cache ,2 GB RAM,512 MB Nvidia Geforce 9300M GS grafic card. What is the problem on it ? Tell me sooner please ??

*Latest driver? Maybe update chipset driver as well. If you just got that laptop and never updated anything it's possible that the "factory default" drivers are outdated. Any specific error code or message to go with that crash?

I bought that laptop just one or two weeks ago.I controlled the latest drivers on grafic card and all.By the way I tried the labratory workshop on Ubisoft site to check my system if it is enough for recommended system requirements to play or not.The result was very good.But I don't know why I can't play that game.

Is DirectX 9 installed on your system? This game requires it (even if DirectX 10 is installed).

tolgahakan76, if you could provide more info that would be very welcome. Like make and model of the laptop, what OS you're running (I'm guessing Vista since it's new?) or something of a message or code (if there is any) from the crash. I don't know about Vista, but XP has an event log where you can find info on errors that occur. A code might help determine the cause, like memory allocation error or failure to render, etc.

But check for DX9 first.

Yes I tried to install the dİRECTX 9.C even if it has Directx 10 on it.It make crashed again.My O.P. is Vista Home Basic Laptop version.It s CASPER model been ın Turkey.(www.casper.com.tr)Casper Nirvana CPB-T575-9F95 model.Also I want to tell you that When I finish the full install of the game Ican't see the SH4.EXE amblem on the menü of START (left corner of the operation system) OF VİSTA.jUST ONLY SEE THE ''REGİSTRATİON REMİNDER'' ,''THE MANUEL ''.''READ ME'' AND THE WEBSİTE AMBLEM has been seen in the ubisoft menü.Also as far as Isee when the game crashed ,no attention note seen on screen.Also after the installment there is no game short amblem seen on desktop.What is the problem my be on it??????????

Mıght It be from the resolution of the screen ??Because My Laptop res. is 1280x800. or I did something wrong on while I am controling the NVİDİA CONTROL PANEL .

I've been having so far in 5 years 3 laptops and all from toshiba...and the first 2 had nvidia chips in there...first of all..let me tell you something...the manufacturer of the laptop will ralely if even bring out an updated version of the graphic driver..as it goes for your brand it is less likely.

I've been putting modded graphic drivers on my nvidias and now I have an ATI powerhouse machine which runs sh4 in full SETTINGS and 1280x 800 without any stutters.

I give you a good advice.The graphic card you have is not as powerful as you might think...nvidia has screwed people around telling its a dx10 chip and the performance suppose to be outstanding..well thats not true...ATI is coming so much closer and is a lot more power efficient..

Anyway back to topic...

This site has the latest drivers..check carefully...read which ones are less bug free..usually the latest drivers have the most problems...the older ones less problems cause of fixing.

I would suggest you getting this driver here

On top you see something written : Driver

You download that..

Next to it you see something like : modden INF

You download that...now...you make a folder extract the driver in that, ok?
What you do next is you put the modden INF in that driver folder and overwrite the other file..

This enables you to install ANY driver that comes out for Desktop machines on laptop with a nice performance boost.

Make sure you uninstall the driver, then use Driver Cleaner Pro after you unistalled and restarted your machine, you can find that on

Then install the new driver and make your settings and play the game again.

Make sure with SH4 you got patch 1.3 and 1.4 and if you have the addon you have patch 1.5

It will help you out a lot.


If that all still does not work..i believe your graphic card is faulty or your laptop is overheating.

Also do NOT install any Direct X version...Vista has allready dx10,you dont need to install anything else..or you may run into the possibilty that vista will have some serious performance issues...My friend had that..I am running dx10 without having to install any other dx version and my games run smooth and fine..

My friend ''newsommer'' I did all things, as you mentioned that installing the latest nvidia driver from the site you have given and the driver installation rules as you said and I reinstall the game again.But the same crach problem occured after I started the game.After I start the game ,The ubisoft amblem comes first and then the game movie comes second then the red line of game loading part is seen but arter then the game crashed and the screen becomes all black.But at the same time I can play Rainbow six Vegas game by ubisoft correctly.By the way I also can't load the trigger maru overover hauled patch file over the 1.4 main game patch.It gives a problem as ''black80.tga file isnot found'' message while the game is loading action(red line) at the begining.I copied the ''data'' and ''support'' files on the game main same files.
