I was just wondering if anything could be done to prevent the replay of past messages everytime you reload a saved game? I know in SH4, there is something called a Radio Stations Manager Mod, developed for just this problem. I know SH3 dosen't have a radio per say, but could anything be done to prevent the replay of old messages?

I am not 100% sure but it's a stock bug to replay the last message prior to the save game once you reload the game. The noly solution I can think of is to empty your radio station but that will stop all messages.

There is a workaround to get all repeating msgs without TC jumps to 1 every time. Set "real time" in sh3com to 32 or 64 (not too high or the fatigue of the crew will occur where it shouldnt be). Run the game like 5 min RL with this TC and all msg in the buffer will be spitten out without TC jumps to 1 at every msg. The "receive radio msg" setting didnt work for me.

That would be great! I may PM Digital Trucker, the developer of the mod, and see if it could be done. I'd try myself, but when it comes to tech stuff I'm lucky I can update drivers without blowing the house up:rotfl:

Hey y'all. Fish sent me a PM about your problem. I don't get over to this side of the world very often since I haven't played SH3 for ages.
![]() I'm looking into doing an application to take care of the problem you're having. So far it looks like it will be very similar to RSM's prepare function. You'll have to select a saved game (so the program can find out the actual in-game date and time) and the program will comment out all the radio messages after the saved game date and time. So far all of the files look very similar, except that the radio messages have a date range instead of just a broadcast date, so I might have to do things a little differently. Shouldn't be any major problem, though. I'd like to be able to give you a time frame for having it done, but that's going to depend on a lot of things. Hopefully soon (tm). ![]() |

My pleasure. I always enjoy a good challenge
![]() ![]() Are there any other mods involved? Would it be possible for someone who is having the problem to zip up their saved games folder and the ...\data\Campaigns\Campaign\messages_en.txt file from their game installation for me to use for testing? In the meantime, I'll keep trying to recreate the problem. Thanks. |
