Time for a payback

After rearming and refueling in Thalia i decided to visit my italian nephews in sicilia. As done before i was sure to brake through the british lines during nighttime sufaced with flank speed. But after 3 hrs gametime an elco spotted me and opened fire so i had to go deep where no wabos ever hit me. After a short while about a dozend dessies and frigate were humming above us.

The whole british navy from gibraltar seems to have a barbequeue here.

I kept going east til sunrise at 190m/3-4 kts forcing all boogies to unload all available wabos on us. Then i raised to 17m where they are unable to ram the boat but where we are able to fire the eals. I headed directly into the neutral Ceuto harbor followed by them. At first i enjoyed the show of the irrational zigzagging of them trying to circle me as usual which was prevented by the harbor installations and anchored merchant. After more then 2 hrs they seems to lost my whereabout due to the swallow water and all but 1 of them were merely drifting like sitting ducks. Now the time had come to do some serious damage.....

Im still sitting there now and waiting for the night to run away but even if i wont make it it was one of the most hillarous and fascinating days in sh3 til now.

I'm on my way to the Gibraltar right now. Hopefully I'll find something interesting there. If I manage to break through, that is...

I did try to raid the Gibraltar, but it was a complete disaster.

I managed to pass through the straight undetected, surfaced during the night. After spending the whole day some 10 km SW of the harbor listening for the patrols and trying to determine their behaviour, it was time to move. I went to periscope depth to take a quick look. And I saw nothing but heavy rain! Zero visibility.

I knew I couldn't continue, as I could slam into a destroyer without even seeing it. But still I moved on, hoping that the weather will improve. Going slowly ,constantly looking into the rain, I was less then 5km from the harbor when somebody turned all the lights on. I was detected.

Soon the shells started to fall around me, and I dived, flank speed, and turned back. I passed right under the anti-sub net (I saw it through my periscope :rotfl, went deeper and silent. The Brits were throwing depth charges all over the place, but I managed to escape undamaged.

If the weather clears tonight, I'll try again.

I guess.

It's almost midnight, June 12 1941, and I'm inside the harbor again . It is nice clear moonless night, moderate visibility. I've spoted my targets, HMS Nelson and Small depot ship. Still 4 km until launching eels.

There are patrol crafts all around me, hopefully I won't be detected. Will keep you posted.

U-104 over and out.

Edit: Just spoted 4 destroyers, 2 light and one heavy cruisers 7 km NE of my position. It will be fun. Still 10 minutes untill launching.

June 13, 0300. I'm out of the Gibraltar harbor, on the surface, under cover of the heavy rain which recently started to fall.

I hit HMS Nelson with 4 torpedoes, and Small Depot Ship with one (the second was a dud?). They both sank one hour later (actually they sat on the shallow bottom, but it's good enough for me since I got the credits).

I wasn't detected, but managed to hit the net on my way out, causing only minor damage.

As soon as the weather clears again, I'm going back in for the London class heavy cruiser and tanker. This time I'll go submerged.

A payback time indeed.
