Hello!
Know I realise this may be an incredibly stupid question, but I have just completed patrol 3, it's Jan 1940 and I am in base. I have about 14 U boat clasps to award and most of my junior sailors are highlighted in blue (I assume because they are eligible for the award). When I try to drag the award over them, I get a text box that says "You must complete a patrol first!". Well, they all have, completed all 3 patrols. Am I doing something really dim here? Thanks |

Screw that, just get Silent Hunter 3 Commander.

Are you left clicking on the "blue" crewman so that their personal information appears in the box in the lower left. And if so, are you dragging the medal to the box? I do not believe you can award medals by dragging the medal directly to the "blue" crew icon (I have never been able to do it) I always select the crewman and drag the medal into the personal information box in the lower Left. Give that a try. ![]()

Yes, doing the standard thing as I always have done: was able to award EK 1 and EK 2 plus a wound badge fine: just doesn't seem to work for these clasps: do they make much difference anyway to crew performance?

Try 'grabbing' the medal in the most 'SSW' part of it and then dragging it the persons info box.
XXX /XXX / X = medal / = mouse 'grab' point That works for me at least ![]()

Sometimes these clasps are difficult to grab and drag.

You should get SH III Commander anyway. Using it's crew management option screen I find that I can often "wring" 1 or 2 extra U-boat War Badges or Front Clasps out of BDU for my crew after completing a patrol.
The latest (and last) version can be found here: http://hosted.filefront.com/Wolfehunter/2238729 . Don't forget to get the small SH III Cmdr 313zip update & the patrol log editor too. |
