question about manual targeting

Hello great guys i have a question about manual targeting
I use the OLCE2 UBERMOD vs.2.3 but i have one problem i am a ABSOLUTE NOOB IN MANUAL TARGETING i dowloaded a helpfile about manual targeting and after long practice bad bad results Now i use weaponofficersupport for shipID and stuff but still when i am at very close range with a zigzagging ship the hitpercentage is very small when i have a green symbol beneath my ship. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING YOU GUYS ALWAYS HELPED ME VERY MUCH and i would appreciate it very much if you guys can help me now. OLCE2 is simply a to good mod to disable them but guys i need to learn the manual targeting so maybe a dowloadlink to a VERY DETAILED MANUAL TARGETINGEXPLANATION with this MOD?

hello sir!
if youve not read it already, check this out:

http://www.paulwasserman.net/SHIII/

it is the definitive guide to manaual plotting and targeting. ignore the stuff at the beginning about required mods for tools and such, they are included within sh3 and gwx by default anyway. i found this guide very helpful. so helpful, in fact, i found a hard copy (the link given at wazoos site no longer works). if you want, PM me your email address and i'll mail it to you.
secondly, i dont use OLC's GUI myself, but i know for a fact that in the ubermods's readme or user guide are links to OLC's downloadable tutorials for the GUI part of the mod. i should imagine that these are pretty much essential for understanding how to use the mod.
a final thing....ships which are zigzagging to avoid you are difficult to hit, even with weapon officer assistance or fully automatic targetting. the trick is to avoid letting them spot you in the 1st place!
hope this helps. good luck

No problem, that thread looks like an interesting one. Just thought it might be more helpful for you there
Edit: Also, I combined a couple of your similar threads. I am sure folks here will have an answer for your question(s).
No need to start multiple threads on the same question. Thanks

Not really. That thread is not specifically about manual targeting (with OLC/Ujagd tools). Merely a discussion on what realism rules to commit yourself to to improve the immersion. The OLC Gui mod thread (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=124639) or OLC Ubermod (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=134186) would have been more appropriate since it is directly about the issue. To get more background on the tools this thread started by joegrundman (for his own Ujagd tools mod) might also be interesting: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=123373. I know they are long to read but well worth it. OLC made a video to explain how to use the tools. A must-see in Boneman's case!
