does anyone know if u can change the type of ammo u use in gwx 2.1?

20mm has AP rounds at present and 8.8 has HE, can i change these?

Not as far as I know. The lack of option is due to GWX's realism. In WW2 the U-boats didn't carry star shells or Ap shells. Only HE.

you'l find what you need in there

Which isn't a correct assumption since Kretschmer used incendiary ammo at least once to sink a ship as stated in the book "The Golden Horseshoe.

This is and will always be open to debate. What is sure though is that AP for the deck gun is not included in GWX, only HE.

If you wish to know how to increase the number of HE shells for the deck gun, let me know or I'm sure someone will post the answer here for you

But this is where the game engine limitations come in. Effectively HE shells function as if they were Incidiary shells in the game anyway, allso i have yet to see a ship sink due to fire damage in game.

Damage to a ship is cumulative whether it be from flooding, explosion or fire. Once the required number of damage points are spent, the vessel should sink.

I don't know about GWX 2.1. In previous versions I've rran into the Swan from hell. The damn thing is on fire from stem to stern but will hound you to death.

It will/does take a while....but they do succumb eventually
