Default Enough of SHIII !

Back in port after first patrol...first time after started 5 careers with almost corrupted savegames.

Send 4 Ships with together 11345 tons to the ground

BdU told me : Ships sunk 0 Renown 0
SH Cmdr. : 1 Patrol : Ships 0 Tonnage 0

The 4 ships only were listed in the update of my personal file of SH Cmdr.

So what´s wrong there.....again ?

it is a bug as old as SH3... the loss of credit for sinkings and loss of renown.

this is a random bug that has eluded a solution.

the cause of the problem is rumored to be returning to close to the spawn point of your sub And/or upgrading your boat prior to the first mission. as a rule of thumb, try to remember the exact point you spawned for the patrol (usually at the dock with the singing crowd or in a sub pen) then, when you return to port.. DONT GO TO THAT POINT. also, dont upgrade the boat until you have sailed at least one patrol, this is why its a good idea to do a "shake down cruise"

im sorry you experienced this bug, personally, i never have, but i have developed the preemptive stratefy of hitting escape and selecting "dock at" when im about 15 miles out of base. supposedly this prevents this bug from occurring

hope this helps

Thx for fast reply GR !

Starting a career 6 times only to loose all in the end, makes me angry costs my nerves and time.

Use SH3Commander to set your days in base to 1, then set up your first career patrol, enlist a full crew and add any upgrades that you want. Then load and as soon as you are loaded into the game, exit by choosing dock at....

This way the Crew/Upgrades bug is out of the way for the rest of your career. Call it a shake down cruise.

Remember to set Cmdr's 'Days in base' back top normal, following a rollback.

Never heard of this rumor about that bug before,
I always "park" my boat at the dock were I started.
Does that bug also appear in GWX 2.1?
If it does I must be more carefull next time.
thanks

I never had that annoying bug. But i've heard that bug sometimes, i suggest you, first of all, do at least one or two patrols without upgrade your sub (it's a preventive action, not a final solution for the bug after all).

Don't upgrade your boat (equipment or crew) before your first patrol.
Don't save submerged.
Don't save within rendering range of ports.
Don't save within rendering range of ships/convoys.
Don't over complicate your save games (save as one name always overwriting).

While the last point is untested/unproven I have experienced Save corruptions after having Kaleun1, Kaleun2, Kaleun3 etc for the same patrol/career. Just pick one save name and keep overwriting it.

All the above points are Stock SH3 issues and should be observed if you wish a fruitful gaming experience.

I do a shake down cruise, always bring boat to the dock then hit dock at.

Last played SH III in 2006, never heard of this bug. Reinstalled it after hearing of GWX my first thoughts were, it is a GWX prob.

Hm...I´ll try it....again Thx all

As Dan posted earlier......plus do not delete the 'Player' save option in the saved game folder. He can save you losing an entire career in the future.

Scary isn't it

definately a stock issue... danlisa mentioned the best possible cure with SH3 commander and the shake down cruise.

About saving outside of rendering range and not while submerged etc... all great points and they should be considered.

dont give up the ship... there is a solution for virtually every problem, and for those without permanent solutions, there are work arounds.

good luck out there!

Another safety net - save just before docking. That way if you do experience this problem, you can simply reload your save, re-dock, and voila, the problem disappears.

Don't ask how, why or the logic behind it, but apparently it works.

As complicated as modern computer programs are, there is no solid logic behind them. It's fuzzy logic at the best of times.

I agree, this has solved this issue for me too.
