Default That's strange, no renown for 1st patrol?

Hello all,

I've just finished my first patrol and sunk 6 ships, amongst them a number of destroyers.
However, after finishing the patrol, no renown has been given to me, how is this possible?
Here's some information about my patrol that might be usefull:

- Start date: 1939
- Uboat: VII
- I hit 'exit patrol' (in SH3 that meant return to base, and collect your renown)
- After finishing, it says my start date was 0/0/0

What is the problem here? Should I have actually docked in a port?
Thank you in advance,

Frank

Did you upgrade, or add anything to your boat, before starting the patrol? That is a well-known renown-killing bug.

The only thing that I added was Das Runic S (Emblem) and some crew changes.

EDIT: I just read the GWX manual, and it says the following on page 14:
Quote:

Players do not receive any renown for returning to base. This is a stock Silent Hunter III issue that GWX is unable to address.

It's strange though, I've returned to base in stock SHIII before, and received my renown.

as far as im aware this stock SH3 issue strikes whenever it feels like it... not all the time.

it is very wierd, and if there was a way around it im sure someone would have found it by now... of course the only way around it is to not upgrade anything until you are back in port.

The GWX manual refers to the 100 renown you are supposed to get for sailing home
Which doesnt work

Any upgrades before first patrol can lead to no renown being given
Do you have a save before you warped back to port ?
If so reload that and try again
Sometimes works

If you really want the renown you can change the delta renown yourself by going to: C:\Documents and Settings\Jim\My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\your career name.....................Patrols_0 CFG file

The same has happened to me without any upgrades applied to my boat. As a precaution that has worked for me in the past, just before docking I make a save and if I don't get the renown I just reload that save and dock again which usually cures the problem.

Luckely, I did have a save-game, and I just sailed home and docked at the port. I got the renown this time!

It's also time consuming and frame-rate eating! But it does feel satisfying
