Default [REL]Invert Mouse Mod

I am not sure why someone hasn't done this yet, but I figured I'd post one since no one else has that I can see. I am not sure how people can play games and look up while pushing the mouse forward.? That is opposite of an aircraft and how it has been done for 100 years!

This modifies two things - 1, it inverts the mouse for normal view, and 2, it inverts the mouse for camera view.

That's it.

well i believe it goes back to the style of play and the use of joystick vs mouse.

the joystick feels more natural to invert the controls for you where i think many who use the mouse dont "feel" the need to invert the controls because it is not as easily to coordinate things you slide with your hand as slide back to go up and slide forward to go down so it takes getting used to.

very nice work subman1

Default Bless you

As one of those who just thinks like a joystick (that doesn't sound right, does it?) I really appreciate this! It will save me many hours of cursing and

It does in a way, but it is way earlier than a joystick. To move something forward to look up is even against the grain of what your brain perceives. Do you rotate your head forward to look up?

Even though you may get used to moving your mouse forward to look up, it is still against the grain of your brain.

You should theoretically be able to deal with an inverted mouse (move mouse backwards to look up) in a more efficient manner. This is just one less step your brain needs to think about to process an action.

If you want to look at it from an aircraft perspective, again, you pull back to rotate the craft up. Same action should be done with a mouse.

The way I see it though, as long as the majority of online FP Shooters continue to exist, and the majority of people do things backwards (move mouse forward to look up), the easier time I will have in maintaining my ability to dominate all of them! :p I've been accused of cheating on many occasion at my ability to take head shots on the fly, but I tell you, I never have. I just use little advantages (like inverted mouse for one) to help give a slight edge! Any little edge that you can think of is typically all you need to stay on top.

Just my theoretical (or should I call it a hypothesis?) take on things related to mouse movement.

actually its all microsofts fault because they started us out using the mouse arrow like that so it is bill gates we need to blame lol.

if the computer arrow movements were inverted we would all be used to it that way and our brains would accept that as the norm.

Try Xerox, not MS! Apple then made it worse with the LISA, and followed by the inferior Mac (LISA was a better machine). MS is third in line here.

This does not mean we all have to follow suite!

This file has been removed from speedyshare. Is it available somewhere else?

Don't know where it, or subman went to, but I hosted it here http://files.filefront.com/SUBMANS+I.../fileinfo.html

Basically, it consists of switching the names of commands 86 and 89 plus 106 and 107 in your BlahBlahBlah\Data\Cfg\commands.cfg file.
Command 86 becomes To_Up, 89 becomes To_Down, 106 becomes Rot_Up and 107 becomes Rot_Down. You'll probably want to disable edge of screen scrolling when using this mod because the screen will scroll downwards when your mouse is at the top of the screen. For the life of me, I can't remember how to disable it, though.

Edit : I found it. To disable the scrolling function change the parent id to 0x3F000000 in sections [G31 I24] through [G31 I27] in the BlahBlahBlah\Data\Menu\Menu_1024_768.ini file. (Thanks ottos and zamboni )

The file is no longer hosted on your speedyshare and filefront links. Would somebody who still owns it be so nice to reupload it somewhere? Thanks in advance!
