Im using GWX 1.03 and Ive had to crash dive a few times the past couple missions. However, my boat doesn't want to stop diving....I set a new depth, but the thing keeps diving, until it hits like 250, I start getting nervous and blow ballast....am I missing something or is this a possible bug??
Thanks! |

Only thing I know of is if you press D for dive you keep going down whereas C brings you to a controlled depth. That prob doesn't help you though if your boat keeps going down after you specify a depth :hmm:

I don't think it's a bug. Though still on my first 1.03 patrol, made a couple of crash dives and stopped them normally with A key.

Are you using SH3 Commander? There a simulated malfunctions that will cause your crash depth to vary, sometime by a little & others by a lot.

Yeah, I'm using Commander.
Haven't tried using the A key......in the past my crash dives stopped, or at least I think they did. Next time I'll try the A key. Thanks for the responses. |

if you are using SH3 commander with malfunctions and sabotage option checked there are a couple of things with crash dive you will notice
1. The crash dive wont happen when you order it because the "Ahead Flank" function has been sabotaged and you cannot make full engine power. 2. Your dive planes will "Jam" in the crash dive plummeting you beyond crush depth to your death. 3. i have heard of some people saying that the AA guns and Deck Guns wont fire sometimes but i have not run into this yet. On every patrol when you are in deep water at the earliest possible point in your patrol. test fire the AA guns and Deck gun, order ahead flank, and order a crash dive. If everything works like it is supposed to then you are ok. the only way to stop the uncontrolled crash dive is to select a new depth. or you can just turn malfunctions OFF in SH3 commander |

When I start out a patrol there are 2 main things I check, flank speed and Crash Dive, when I am in an appropriate depth.

You can also check the cfg file in : C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\GWXv103\data\Submarine\NSS_Uboat9b4. ....the crash depth should read 70 metres
