Default Weather & aircraft

Was wondering if GWX takes weather into account when calculating patrol aircraft spotting range. I've been cruising the english channel for 2 days in heavy clouds (no rain at present) and not a single aircraft has seen me.

From what I've seen, weather does affect aircraft. Overcast with good visibility will reduce number of aircraft, but you can be spotted and attacked.

Never seen airplanes in rain and fog

That's what I was wondering. Nice touch, if true.

I've been cruising up and down the Channel surfaced in the day for 2 days in crappy overcast weather torpedoing single freighters left and right, and nary a Brit aircraft in sight. Just been enjoying the experience.
