Default Dear Mort and Subsim Forum Members

Port at last. My beloved Lorient. A sight for sore eyes and the end of patrol #2

Low and behold I have completed a second patrol. Not only that, I did it in fine fashion. Best patrol I have ever had. Medals all around! The drinks are on me boys. See you at the Rusty Hull Bar and Grill . Ah, you non-believers.... I stand proud on my conning tower of U-124. Revel in my greatness!

I know....it is about friggin' time

Well, to be honest I was being towed out to sea. The boat was so battered they planned to scuttle the thing I was using the binoculars on the way out. Thats me looking off the stern. At least I made it home.

Someone said patrol #12 is not so good for U-124

Congrats, and job well done AVGWarhawk!

I just had a great third patrol, first one for my new VIIB. While going along my Watchman said 'Ship spotted' in a very excited tone of voice. Took a look and a Task Force was coming down the pipe in front of me at 21 kts! To make a long story short, I had to react quickly, but I managedd to get in front of the escort on the TF's flank and I set myself up and aimed at an HMS Rodney at a range of around 1300m(iirc), with a salvo of 3 torps. Shortly after firing them another ship had the audacity to loom into view in the line of fire of the shots I just made. Two of the torps hit the ship that loomed into view and sunk her, third torp never hit anything. Well, ended up it was almost as good as a Rodney, it was a Revenge Class Warship! I don't know how long it'll be before I get that lucky again. :hmm: In the end I got 32,000t of Warship and 34,000t of Merchants!

Anyway, glad to see you've finally lived to go out to sea for a third patrol AVGWarhawk. Good hunting to ya!

Cheers

Congratahoochies, Hawk
Now the bad news, I'm preparing the paperwork to have you expelled from your club. But we can talk it over a bottle of fine single malt, cask strenght, which I liberated from a dinky tramp.
