Das kleine Boot
I was getting to like the cramped & runty type IIA.
Manuverable, but not super quick by far. Im on the 6th. patrol of the 1st carrer since I started playing this game. No deck gun and just five fish. I lost 2 c2's and a costal so far because of single non-fatal hits and or misses combined with empty tubes. (*) Two other times merchants out ran me despite my tracking attemps. Despite that, I belive most patrols like the last one have been good. Last patrol score #1 tubes 1&3 ![]() Score #2 night attack tube 2 ![]() With sufficent renown for a VIIB, a deck gun are now looking like a needed option. But I wanted to see what the Type IIA canoe could do. Resisted spending renown on the battery updrade. I've also come up with a good fuel saving method of patrol, something I picked up from the SHII days. (*) 2 questions remain. Can a VIIB deal with manning a deck gun in slightly heavy seas making the spent renown worth it? This next one is a bit longer winded - I tracked a fished costal from AN28 WsW almost all the way to the cost hoping for smoother waters so I could try and finish it off with the flak gun. The hit took her from 9 down to 5 knots. A foolish hope apparently because as I approched the cost the merchant just vanished! I was right on her maybe 700m out. What's up with that? I thought ok maybe this is the games way of dealing with a wounded ship kickin the bucket. But K-log didn't show the score. Grrrrr..
