Kiel Canal

After trying to set up the autopilot and giving up, I just went ahead and set up waypoints, which took me about 10 minutes and let the sumbie go. Leaving Kiel and getting under the first bridge I simply sat and enjoyed the scenery and watched for conflicting traffic. Full marks to the Dev team. The experience made me think of Sailing from San Francisco Bay into the California Delta.

Then I went into TCx4, took a shower, came back, watched the scenery. Went to have breakfast watched the scenery while eating eggs. Back to x4TC. Had a ciggie outside. Came back in time to sail out of the western end of the canal. In toto, a nice experience. ONCE !

On my return from patrol did the same thing but was able to transit the canal at x64 TC. Great!

On the second patrol, outbound, the damn thing would not let me TC more than x4. Bummer!

Then I discovered that if you keep the speed of the boat at under 5 knots, GWX will allow you to compress time higher than x 4
