hey guys,
Im still working hard on a mod to produce more aircraft for Sh3, Im having a really rough time with it. I am very happy with the models I have worked on so far, but im having problems "skinning" the aircraft, Its not so much creating a skin thats the problem is creating a sensible 2d layout to use as a template.
I know there are several ways of doing this, but im not sure which is the best way for a beginner like me, Ive spent all morning messing about with Max'x UWV unwrapper and its quite tricky to use!
Some one (I think Sergbuto) sugested I use a progy called deepUV - but It dont come cheap. and I cant find a warez copy anywhere (yes Its not nice - but I am that desperate)
I would be really gratful if some one could give me a rough guide on how they do it, in a few simplified steps. Im using 3ds Max 7 and photoshop.
At the moment im completely stuck, I really dont think i can go any further with out help. I dont have that much free time on my hands at the moment.
If I can just make some darn templates, I can appeal to the community for help with creating in skins, allowing me to concontrate on the 3d.
Aside from skinning the aircraft some of them need additional gunnery, I need to make a 57mm mollins cannon for the moquito at the very least, and hopefully some 20mm cannons as well.
Im doing about 5 to 7 planes so its a quite alot of work, Im almost cracking up here please help if can!
I was hoping I would have something ready so that i could submit the mod to the GW team for the next release, but its begining to look unlikely it will be done in time.
heres what I have so far

Im now working on a beufighter will also make an Anson and Halifax.
I had planned to do more (B-17/ B-18/ B-25/ Wildcat/ beaufort) but I would need more people working on it.
