Anvart, what other ships do you plan to make lighted? I personally would like to see them all lighted eventually, except for the Victory and Liberty freighters and also the Troop Transport. Of course, I realize that you may not have the time to do all that - your current work is well appreciated though.:rock:

Another really cool looking ship - I love the light effects.
However, I don't remember noticing this in the other threads before but this one has a daytime shot and the lights are apparently still lit - I never thought to ask before, but does this mean that the lights on all these lighted ships have to stay on 24 hours a day? I suppose there's no way to get the game to turn them off during the day, huh?

Hmmm - figured as much (once I thought about it) - well, I suppose that it wouldn't be all that unusual for the cabins to have their lights on during the day (especially if the only ambient light in them otherwise would be coming from the little port holes), but the lights on the flags would seem to be totally pointless during the day, and while it's a pretty cool effect I don't think it's really all that necessary even at night - soooo - are there versions of these cool lighted ships without the flag spotlights, or would it be very hard to create alternate versions without those flag spotlights?
Just when ya think SH3 is complete, another great mod comes out!:D

Sorry if this question comes off as a bit stupid, but in the Readme, one of the installation instructions is: "Copy contents of my file EnglishNames.cfg into your files ...Names.cfg and then remove my file." What is this folder ...Names.cfg? I'm a bit confused about this one line, could someone maybe simplify it for me?

In the sea folder is a file called "Englishnames.cfg" - simply copy the line..."LTMS=T3 Tanker L"..from Anvarts Englishnames.cfg and post it to bottom of yours and save
If you are using JSGME to install the mod - delete Anvarts Englishnames.cfg or it will replace your current one

I was thinking that one of the other two tankers, or the small merchant, would be the best to see lighted next.:hmm:
[I think that only stock ships would be really good to do though - none of my merchants would look good lighted because of the messed up UV Mapping.:down:]
EDIT: So have you decided which one you're going to do next?
Ok, so I did everything it says to do in the Readme, and then I installed using JSGME, buuut... I go to the museum and I don't find it in any of the merchant lists... What have I done wrong?
Still waitin for an answer :D.

In the roster that came with the download its in the Sweden sea folder only - did you look at Sweden in the museum?
I did not get a chance because when I scroll down to Portugal, the game crashes (any way to fix this?). How do I put it in other country's rosters besides Sweden? Do I have to manually copy and paste the .cfg file into every country's Sea roster? Or is there an easier way? Thanks for answering my questions Bigboywooly :D.

Copy the LTMS.cfg that is in the NLTMs_Lights\data\Roster\Sweden\Sea folder and paste to whatever country you want
If you want just neutrals then put in Argentina\Ireland\Spain and Portugal
:hmm: As for crashing at Portugal - have a look in the Roster file for Portugal and make sure all seems ok - I know thats a bit hard but you can compare the entries in there with other countries ( ones that dont crash )

1. Are there any more I should know about?
2. For historical accuracy, should I only give ships with lights to Neutral countries? What about the cruise liner... Would that have been lit up anyway, neutral or involved?

There is the Coastal Merchant - T3 Tanker - Fishing Boat 1 - Hospital ship - Passenger ship and Tug boat oh and C2
Another question :D: Do you guys delete the non-lighted ships from the files after you install Anvart's lighted ships? For example, would you, after putting the Cruise Liner with Lights in the Argentinian folder, delete the regular Cruise Liner?

I did not delete those files.. because in later years some countries turn from neutral to allied and then you could use the others.

Yes I deleted all the darkened ones I had lights for in neutral countries
My Argentina file has
LPL,LLS,LSQ,LTgBOAT,LTMS all lit KSS,OTMST2,OTSF,COT,Fishingboat,Fishingboat2 AND PCTrawler,DDV&W ( not done yet with lights )

I'm now doing what you instructed on the C2 lights thread: Going through each and every country who changed sides multiple times during the war, and changing the enter/exit dates for EVERY light/non-lighted ship. I started at the US and now I'm at Belgium... Damn, this is gonna take a while.
PS - I think in your Argentina file you're missing the FishboatL = Fishing Boat with Lights :D
PPS - Why did you give Argentina the V and W destroyer?

Before you go too far remember you have to change them in the scr as well - there is also few in the rnd
Pain in the @ss but worth it as you can see by my pics in New york
Dont forget to make a back up of scr and rnd

I hope you don't drop from exhaustion in the hail of questions I have been asking. Usuall I just buy a game and play it as is, maybe install a few mods, but this is different, delving into the files of a game, poking around and editing things here and there. It's somewhat of a new thing to me, and I thank you for your patience.

Well the SCR will call for say a KLS when America is neutral
Only you wont have a KLS at that time as your KLS will " appear " the day the US enter the war
So you have to replace the KLS entries to LLS when the "Side=0"

Origin=American
Side=0 <-------------------Neutral
To
Name=US C2 Cargo#4
Class=LLS
Type=102
Origin=American
Side=0
and leave

I would presume so - dont use NYGM - but the principles are the same
You wont find too many in the rnd as thats where most of the convoys are and in NYGM there are no neutrals in convoys so should be easier

I came back from holiday to find that Anvart has not only provided us with a magnificent lighted T3 tanker, but also with a lighted fishing-boat.
Once again, great work Anvart, and you have completed the 'minimum set' originally requested. Like the kings of old, we can say: "Others must await our question; you are free".
All the lighted ships will be used appropriately within the next release of NYGM. They are all incorporated and fully tested. (So 'Rose' does not have to make the changes he asked about in the previous post.)

Ohmmmmmm, not trying to step on anyones toes and knock anyones hard work but in WWII RL, ships were never allowed to run with ANY lights showing. Men were not even allowed to smoke on deck. This is for any ship whose country is involved in the war. However neutral ships did not obide to this and sometimes ran fully lite.
Of course, this is all mute if you dont run at 100% realism.
Good work though, it looks really neat.:up:
