The Date

I was trying to take a sun sight yesterday to ascertain my position. :know: I met a problem when looking at the almanac :cry: - I didn't know the date. :o So I put my sextant back in its box, and into the loft. Dead Reckoning, I reckon :cry:

Is there a way to find out the date in SHIII. In SHII there was a calendar. I have looked in all the lockers but............

only place it seems to be recorded mid patrol is on the K screen (and then it's only the date the patrol started and the date of any sinkings---) bit confusing all round somtimes especailly with the date in the pre mission screen not allways being the actual date of the patrol :doh:

You can also find the date on the crew screen. It's up on the top right. You hardly notice it cause the crew and compartments are the focus of the screen. It's there though.

Yes, it is similar principle as f.e. in Windows XP.

Interestingly, there are specific entries in the en_menu.txt that define the text displayed in the tooltip. These values are defined in the menu_1024_768.ini under the ToolTipText entry (last line in the example below). This is an example:
