View Full Version : Creating a new gunsight/crosshair?

Is it possible to create / add a new crosshair for the deck gun? Or maybe change the color/lumisoty? For distant targets, I'd love be able to see the centerpoint.
Something like this: http://sims.berkeley.edu/~fredrik/cuda/gunsights/gunsights.html
Bump - and I'd like to see where the crosshair graphic is stored, so we can get rid of it for realism.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, did not found yet the values or TGAs responsible for the crosshair in Deckgunview :(
but if u want remove the binocs crosshair (i think the commanders didn`t have that green X in their binocs) it is a easy one....
Don`t know who found out that before, it was a modder from here.... :hmm:
But here the way to get rid of that Crosshair in Binoculars:
1. open (save it before) your menu_1024_768.ini in your data/Menu Folder
2. Find this block:
[G27 I12]
Name=Viewport
Type=1030;Static bmp
ItemID=0x27000001
ParentID=0x27000000
Pos=32,730,960,586
Color=0xFFFFFF00
Materials=1
Display=2;Linear
Mat 0=data/menu/gui/layout/bkgr.tga
Crop 0=0,0,4,4
MatFlags=0x1
TexFmt=0x9
3. Just set a semicolon ";" before this line:
;Pos=32,730,960,586
4. then it looks so:
[G27 I12]
Name=Viewport
Type=1030;Static bmp
ItemID=0x27000001
ParentID=0x27000000
;Pos=32,730,960,586 --------!!!(semicolon set there)!!!
Color=0xFFFFFF00
Materials=1
Display=2;Linear
Mat 0=data/menu/gui/layout/bkgr.tga
Crop 0=0,0,4,4
MatFlags=0x1
TexFmt=0x9
5. Save and exit, thats all.
Greetings Sale
The crosshair for the guns are a bit strange looking alright - they seem at a glance not to be tga's but something else like a sort of vector graphic.

Yeah, that`s hardcoded like the Blank Area at the bottom of the NaviMapscreen!
Can`t get rid of that without a SDK!
Bad, but would be great to have no crosshair at deckguns....
So :roll:

Bump
Did anyone ever figure out how to get rid of that crosshair?
