Hello are there any files which are responsible for thermal layer depth and etc.?

In the SH4 game, Data / Cfg / sim.cfg file does it, under the hydrophone and sonar headings. The 1.0 setting means "None", while a 3 setting cuts the sensors to 1/3 (roughly) of their ability - for the ASW that is, not the player... the player does not lose the ability to accurately hear the surface ships.

I am aware of these files. I am searching for files which are responsible for spawning depth of the thermal layer.

Ahhh... sorry 'bout that. You're looking for the "random" factor. I am not aware of that being touchable, much less where it would be found, whether the SHSim.act, EnvSim.act, or what... :salute:

what you are looking for is embedded in the Ubi code somewhere.
like the O2 and CO2 consumption/production rates.
like some of the weather generation and a great many other things.
there are ACT files that seem to hold a great many secrets.
cracking them and publicizing same is considered to be an act of piracy.
mind how you go.
