how to edit the amount of ammo?

I do not know how to do it manually, but in the Downloads, under gameplay there is a mod for you. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=4458

Its called "Extra Ammo mod".
Will not work on modded ships though.
