CW mods for Mac

Hey guys, I'm really starting to enjoy this game after initial frustrations and the 1.1 fixed some issues. I'm playing on OSX Mac, anyone else here doing the same? Are the mods here usable for the Mac as well?

Evidently mods work on the mac, but they have to be put inside the app package. Clearly not ideal. I might make some noises about moving or aliasing the overrides overrides folder at some point in the future, but I figured let the developers deal with more pressing matters for a while until things stabilise.

Oh, I read somewhere that steam workshop integration may be on the roadmap, in which case we won't have to worry about difficulties loading mods as it will all be automagical. :)

For those who play on Mac, is this game moddable, anyone know how I can install the water mod on this game?

But lets hope Devs enable steam workshop. This is 2017, aint noone got time to dig through directories, point and click.

It can be modded on a mac...

I am playing on my macbook. I use to play Aces of the Deep when I was a kid so it is nice that there is a sub sim since switching to mac....

The problem is finding where the Cold Waters Files are located since mac hides everything. I have been playing it through the Stream app. if you right click on the cold waters icon in your library and go to properties...then the local files tab. You can select view local files...

Once there you will have to right click on the cold waters app and show package contents.

From there you follow modding as if it were a PC. The traditional folder directory stuff.

Make sure you do the 'override' folder and be careful not to install conflicting mods. It takes some time but it works. the 2004 campaign on the downloads page is nice.

I'm playing on my macbook pro and loving it. I recommend the 2004 campaign, just drag the override folder into the streaming assets folder in Cold Waters properties and you should be good to go.
