View Full Version : Mod lists and must have enabled patches ???

ok im torn and fighting with myself and have know idea whats the best mod and in what order to best fit them in. i am confused as to what and where and how the patch by TDW works still and how to know if it is working and what mods are best suited for the patcher settings. i have sobers all in one mods list which i will post as i need help and advice and opinions and suggestions. ive posted something like this before but i feel that i didnt explain myself as well as i hoped. two of the best things that immerses me into this great game is the game itself but i know some things in game are not authentic or as real as they should be. im aware it is just a game and has its limits. i dont expect the realist most awsome experience known to man out of this but i would like to experience the best that is offered out of the patch and mods provided. so two things really three but the third is taken care of already. 1- uboat funtionality and authentic as possible, 2 the environment, 3 the campaign (as stated already taken care of. but the main two first is what id really like to focus on. so knowing this here are the mods.....

.....ok so out of these mods, which reflect the best for my taste mentioned above? i dont want real navigation and i like to keep all my grid stuff and torpedo trget stuff on map if possible. thank you for your patience and time reading all this and your advice and input. it means alot as i owned this game since it has come out and have yet to complete it still and would like to enjoy the game to the end with mods. thank you all.

Have you had a look at "The Wolves of Steel" Megamod? Although "Sobers all in one" is a comprehensive mod list, I think some of the included mods, for example, "Dead is dead" is more for providing a challenge for people with Sobers level of expertise and skill. :yep: IMHO "TWoS" has the best balance and stability of the megamods and is constantly evolving.....

yes ive checked it out but for now as the install sits of changing this and that and its recommended that you exit and restart on long patrols is something im not intersted in at the moment. id like to stick with my original plan as mentioned above.:up:

Hi darken

You need to remove the RN mod as you say you do not want it.

Also the last mod dead is dead you need to remove that as well.

There is no connection between mods in general and the generic file patcher.

The exception to this is the patcher changes to be made when using 7-5-0.

What you did not mention was TDW's options file editor viewer.

If you are not familiar with it then check out my tutorial post #6.

sober has a good tried and tested mod list, so my advice would be to remove the 2 mods and go with the rest and see how you get on.

I agree with Kevin regarding TWOS there is a lot of work going on to make this the must have mega mod.
