hello everyone,

After being away for quite some time, i'm back :woot:I completly reinstalled SH5 and installed the latest version of Open Horizons II with 2 included mod files, further then that i have not installed any other MOD's (yet). As i begin my 1st mission in the Baltic i noticed that all the docked ships in the port are grey ( i see them as grey ships without details just outlines filled with grey). My question is what did i do wrong?:k_confused:

Txs in advance for any answers:up:

Check that you have updated the stock game to v1.2 (see top right main menu)

If not - remove all mods - run:-
C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\Support\GameUpdater\GU.exe

re-install mods

Yup that did the trick  many txs for the fast reply.

i tried a mission but i forgot how to hit a sgip with a torpedo :( i can lock it but then the toorpedo's still not come even close to te target. What i remeber from long time ago was that once you got a lock on a ship then the torpedo would hit unless it made some evasive manouvres. i tried this mission on the easy mod to get familiar again with the controls. so what am i doing wrong now? i also noticed that i not can find the option to tell the gunners to shoot at targets just mann the guns AAA and deckgun but then they not do a thing when a ship is near or a plane

Use Lock only to turn on TDC and check the ship type you plan on sinking. Then click Break Lock and turn off TDC. You will then see the numbers 1, 2, and 3. Now you're set to set torpedo speed, depth, and magnetic or impact. Keep the scope's cross hairs on the part of the ship you want the torpedo to strike and then press Fire, and hopefully watch the fire works.

Play with this using a Historical Mission for practice until you know how it all works and you're sinking ships. Do Not use a campaign save for obvious reasons. ;)

you should also learn the fast 90 attack
it is easy and very good for when you get ahead of the convoy and can sit and wait for them.

All you need are these two mods
TDWs UI (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=166093)
Trevally Tutorials (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=177725)

Run a ingame tutorial like this http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1547794&postcount=2

thanks everyone for the response now the torpedo's must work after some practise :) Now only thing i don't get yet is why the deckgun gunners stay idle when there is a target i suspect the AAA guners is idle aswell. I can remember there were commands you could give them but i not see them anymore.

I noticed something else in all the screenshots you guys have meters and buttons then i have i have nothing but a big black next to to the periscpe with just a very small button for foring the torpedo and choose torp. 1,2,3,4 and 5 that's all. can i use another UI for that or doesn't that work with Open Horizons II ?

ps my apologize for all the questions.

I have a question about open horizon v2 in the very first mission Baltic Operations Its says in the changelog "All campaign objectives remade to remove focus on tonnage - now focus is on patrols" However after sinking two Polish frieghter the objective is complete to go home but the progress bar shows only half done as if i have to sink to more ships. I should'nt have to sink any thing at all if i patrolled my designated areas. Will it be complete when the due date arrives Nov 1 1939 or sail back to base and end patrol. If i do sink anything dose the old tonnage and number rules apply or is this an error?:06:This is the first time in six months I have completed a patrol and ready to head home.

I use sober's mode list

:hmmm: You can give orders to your officers to man the guns etc and then give them fire control orders (fire at waterline etc)

This is within the UI mod I use (TDWs UI)

Ok - here you are seeing the two stage missions.
The main one is to patrol the Baltic and within that there is a smaller mission to patrol an area (orange icon). You did manage to patrol the icon and that is finished but the bar is only half full as you have more patrolling to do in the Batltic.

So - if you have torps left - keep looking for those Polish ships. Otherwise head back to Kiel for more supplies and the head back to the Baltic.

Where an objective is to patrol an area - just keep going there, attack ships, resupply and repeat:up:

Oh - yes, nice mod list there from Uekel:up:
This as you can see will use DrJones's Ui - It will do many of the same things I posted about above. (no tutorials or automation though)

Sink em all:arrgh!:

Now this is a bit confusing still how do you mean there is no automation?? i thought you had to sink them manually anyway as you discibed before..
1. Aim at ship.
2. Press space bar to lock.
3. Press space bar to unlock.
4. Select turn tdc off (in xo box)
5. Press space to lock.
6. press space bar to unlock.
7. Aim at any part of ship and fire.

so as i understand now this is with automation? if yes wich part is then automated?

The automation that Trevally refers to gives you the possibility to execute scripted actions, available as separate downloads on this forum. It is a fetature of TDW's UI that comes handy for automatically carrying out routine duties, like approaching/leaving some harbours, setting search patterns during your patrols, having navigation fixes shown at regular time intervals (if you are using real navigation), setting up evasive maneuvers, etc.

To upload a screenshot - the picture must first be on the internet some where.
(you can copy and past a pic from a webpage to the forum)

Take an ingame screen shot by pressing Ctrl+F11
It will save to - C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5

So I use imageShackUploaded - join imageshack (free).
install the uploaded and run

http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/6572/imageshackaa.jpg

Drag your pic here - best to use jpg (edit picture and save as jpg)

Copy the link given
