View Full Version : Hello guys. How is sh5 doing these days?

Of course, I mean a fully modded up game.

Does it surpass SH4?

I have done some small mod work on sh3 in the past but when sh5 originally came out I was so disgusted that I shot the cd with a revolver. I didnt think anything could be done to rescue it. But then I felt terrible, knowing that this modding community is by far the best and the brightest of any gaming community. So... has it improved enough to buy it for 5 bucks?

I would have to agree. A little more work to do on it and no other subsim currently or in the past will even come close to it :D

You forgot:

CO2 bug fix - check
Sub hull taking damage from DCs - check

working on making the AI gunners much more accurate. Hopefully will have patch for that soon.

I think - yes.:O: With all mods I think this game is worth more than 5 bucks now. Definitely much more ;)

So true... with all credit to all the wonderful modders, Silent Hunter 5 is now a great game to play. You can have total realism, or any variant of that you would like. The hard core guys might laugh... but with the proper adjustments to TDW's IRAI, I can have the "gaming" experience of WWII Uboat combat - just with a slightly increased probability of survival!

The answer to your question is a resounding "YES" - thanks to all the modders!

Yes yes yes definitely yes.

No not at all. Despite the work of all the great modders here at subsim, SH5 is still not worth the price of a pack of cigarettes, a drink in a bar, or half a movie ticket.

What a joke. SH5 has been better than SH4 and SH3 (GWX) for a while now. TDW's UI upgrade and Trevally's Open Horizons campaign make the game the best in series IMHO.

This has to the most frustrating mod to install. Waste of time. SH5 with this mod is still a TURD. after the tdw mod soup it's a painted TURD. You'd have to be an autistic obsessive to go through this insane install. Absolute abortion.

TDW ,adds a layer of bugs on top of what is a disaster of a sim. :/\\!!

Are you having a bad day, sir?

We do not insult other members here at Subsim. Radcapricorn insulted the mod he didn't like. That is his privilege. Namecalling is not allowed here. This is an official warning.

Excuse me? :o

I pointed out that complaining about a mod, as you did, is fine. My comment was directed at the person who insulted you.

Excuse me again, I did not complain about any mods.

Edit: I understand that everyone makes mistakes, so normally I wouldn't even bother bringing this up. I just would feel bad if someone says I insulted TDW's work. Or work made by any other modder here at subsim for that matter. The person you are referring to is tmpat36, whose post I now no longer see in this thread, and who made a similar post in another thread, which I both quoted.

I can't understand anything also..
In my post to you I mean that it's useless to talk with tmpat36.. (whose posts we now no longer see in any thread)
But Sailor Steve understood it not so..
Maybe my bad English is cause for it..

Probably what happened was his account was deleted thus erasing all his messages, and that caught Sailor Steve off guard too, as my message with his quotes remained :) So you got warning for insulting me, while in fact you talked about an already banned person.

Anyhow, yeah, language barrirer, or even more, mentality barrier is a thin ice when it comes to insults. What may look as harmless to us in our own interpretation does not necessary mean that would be the same when put into other language. BTW, your English is better than you think, if I do say so myself :) It's just that not everything is literal, I guess.

As you said it's just language barrier :)
