@Pedrobas: I checked my CCC and sadly I do not have the same options as you have in my CCC. I think it's because I have different card then you have. I beginning to give up.:cry: When I uninstall MMM p2 my lag and crashing disappears but the mouse issue is still there. When I uninstall MMM p3 my mouse issue disappears. I don't know whats wrong with my rig, but I don't want to play the game without MMM part2 and part3... :wah: If there are some people here with a HD6990 card and different CCC settings then the default maybe you can post your CCC settings. I tried everything I could think of to sort out this problem but I don't have any ideas left now.

If you have different CCC options is because youīre using an older CCC ATI drivers. First thing iīll do would be to install latest Drivers. Searching for the link for you i see there are new ones CCC 12.3. Downloading now.

I'm using CCC 12.3, downloaded directly from AMD. The thing is that the HD6XXX are using different technology than HD4XXX and the settings are, because of it, different.

Yes itīs different because your card is "the best". I would try to untick the latest features like "Tesselation", "Enable surface format optimization".
The Anisotropic (game donīt have anisotropic so the card must do it), untick "use aplication setting" and use 4X.

First off thank you Pedrobas! I had nearly given up on SH5, was hoping someone would put together a MM with the combined work of all the great modders here :yeah:

Im having a problem with the Kiel canal script, have only tried the outbound one but both times it runs me aground shortly after entering the canal... (a minor issue really, was just curious)

Any suggestions fellow subsimmers?

Are you using a high TC?, best for me is ahead speed and no more than 32 TC.

Yes I was... :oops: Unfortunately RL leaves me very little time to play, so I try to get to the hunting grounds as fast as possible...

Goto - data\Applications and run the Dbgview
Then start the canal script.

You can the see from the Dbgview report what has went wrong - you can post this report or send to me:up:

Thank you so much for your help, I still have hopes that this game will eventually work well with my rig. I've tried changing all those CCC settings but it is still lagging/crashing. I'm wondering if there is a easy way to disable "FX Update" from MMM? I want to test and see if "FX Update" is causing this lag.

First: As far as I have seen I like this mod very much. And I would like to be able to keep it. But!!! I am having ctd's!

The situation: Every time when I am in Scapa Flow (Breaking the Fortress, Coastal Waters) after firing a torp to sink the battleship I get a CTD. This happened now between 5 and 10 times already. The CTD happens when the torp is between halfway there and just before impact. I never see the impact.

I really hope to get this figured out because I would really like to play the game with this mod configuration.

After reinstall did you deleted completely the users\documents\SH5 folfer?. If donīt, do it , start new campaign, skip the tutorial and try in scapa again. It worked for me.

Welcome to the ctd club guys. This game is nearly perfect to my needs and expectations, but these ctd's occuring recently are really p....g me off. Yesterday I figured out when I remove TDW's IRAI files I can do whatever I want without any ctd whatsoever. However this game is no challenge at all without IRAI. Now I'm going to test whether it is somehow related to the time compression. Most of the time I use 1024 max, but sometimes I do switch to 1500 or the one around 2500 or so. So now I set the max to 1024 in cfg file and I'm gonna test it. With OHII and its enhanced (brilliant) traffic and IRAI maybe higher TC can desynchronize certain things...Hard to say, I'm no modder, but I don't mind to do some testing. Will report back. If you don't ctd - sink them all then.

"TDW_No_contact_shapes_or_colors_no_contact_line_1_ 1_0" enable last.
"TDW_No_Hydrophone_On_Surface_No_Aircraft_Spotting_ 1_1_0" this one donīt use it, itīs implemented in equipmet upgrades so if you use the KDB hydrophone you donīt get contacts on surface, if you use the other you get and you should in reality because they are under water even surfaced so should work, and i think that people using it with MMM got CTDs.
To disable FX Update from MMM p2 or AIO is complicated for me now, (not at home) you can try to create your own following the list of mods contained in p2, i tweeked some files but canīt remenber now exactly which ones.

Thanks Pedrobas. I'm doing everything now to try resolve the lag and CTD. If I won't manage to solve it I will try making a fresh windows installation and test once more. I see people with the same rig as mine not having any issues so it must be something with the software. I usually make a fresh Win 7 installation once a year so it's almost time to make one. I will be devastated if I don't manage to solve this problem. :nope:

With 1.7 I didnt had that. And because I remove the SH5 folder I cant change the setting: completed tutorial to true. Is there some way to change this without starting a new campaign?

no - the tutorial issue was worked on in v1.7
It works for me and a few who tested it, but its too soon to say it is fixed:D

That is why I now have a mixed message about it in the OHII thread. I say there -

"do not play the tutorial"
"you can now play the tutorial"

Still waiting to see which message to delete:O:

Just tested and again it worked for me:hmmm:
I did a save load when getting back to Kiel (I always check I can speak to the upgrade officer. if I can't, I save/load)

I for myself skip the tutorial.

When I skip the tutorial all works fine.

As I tried to play the tut as suggested by uekel I get the CTD.

I ever skip it now.

PS Next time I will try the save/load, maybe I've forgotten.

Pedro: You said in one of those previous posts that you think you've discovered the cause of ctd's. I'm just wondering what is it linked with? Any find on this one? Or just give me a clue and I'll start digging/testing too, but it should be sorted. MMM is too good and should be clean of ctd's you know?

Let me tell you this if it's any help. When I was using your very first release, I had no ctd's at all with v. 0.1. No ctd's with 0.2,3,4. My first ctd occured in v. 0.5 in parts and then in AIO as well. Would you still have version 0.3 please? I'd even rollback, just to get rid of this issue you know? But my offer to help you out investigating still stands here, just point me in the right direction what to focus on. As I've mentioned before I have no ctd's when I remove TDW's IRAI files, but it is hard to say. With so many mods involved it can be anything. Trevally said there's ctd when you fire at any other ship but capital one at Scapa. I've experienced that too, but now I get ctd's basically any time, even without a single contact. Thank you.

Pedro: You said in one of those previous posts that you think you've discovered the cause of ctd's. I was talking only about MMM Harbour Enhancements. Any way iīm going to release soon v0.6, and it has some changes in the Scapa mission acording to Trevally, perhaps it helps.

This is the new "MMM p6 - OHII+Lifeboats (OHII 1.8) v0.6". Try it to see if it helps. If you use this, DONīT NEED the " MMM patch for OHII v1.8". So just use "MMM p6 Base Mod v0.6" instead of the old one "MMM p6 Base Mod v0.5".

Try and avoid using refit too often in the same patrol. When you save your game there are lots of info being written, also your campaign progress is being saved by the patrol. Some have said they get more ctds if refit is used too ofen.:hmmm:
I only ever refit once before giving my crew (and pc) some much needed rest.

Had another ctd. However it was not during the approach from southeast, it happened inside Scapa. At the same place.

Regarding the refit I used one at Kiel after I was running out of fuel in North sea. But I had these ctd's around Scapa even when I started the raid as my next patrol.

Please I urge you do not consider this as disrespect to your awsome work (I mean all the modders now). But I hate playing games with the thoughts 'I can't do this, I can not go there etc.' If the game is not fully functional I rather don't play it at all. And if it was any other game I'd most likely put it aside, but it is SH5 and I do want to play it. But as I've read around this forum this 'Scapa issue' seems to be the problem of stock game....:dead:

Hey pedrobas, new at the forums (lurker since last year) and I just wanted to thank you for this mega mod. A lot of these mods were newer last year I believe and I had trouble getting them to work together without spazzing out on me.

I think I've tried everything. Clean reinstall, SH5 folder in 'documents' deleted, started several new campaigns. Baltic sea, North sea seems ok, it's that Scapa raid giving me nightmare. Tried with MMM only (without all those little improvements) resulted in ctd. Tried with OHII only - no ctd. OHII+IRAI=ctd for me, without IRAI no ctd, but waste of time to play (at periscope depth 10m from a destroyer shining at my periscope doing nothing - excellent work Ubi). I guess all of you guys have OH+IRAI right? Thanks for your interest in this problem of mine.

Does the version of MMM use the latest OH2 V 1.8 with the no ship spawning around scapa ? I think thats the one you need . No good installing while in port either . Delete the Whole SH5 save game folder and start a new career . In fact probably better to uninstall the mods , then uninstall the game and delete the save games , then reinstall . It only takes about 10 minutes .

Imagine how i get when i tried to enable "MMM p2 - Base Mod v0.5" and JSGME suddenly say's to me ""Lights.cfg" has already been altered by the "MMM p1 - Base Mod v0.5" mod."
I tried to uninstall and install again SH5 and JSGME, but it wrote me the same error message... :(
Did this already happened to one of you guys?
What am I supposed to do?
If someone could help me, it would be very nice, because I really want to install those mods.

I have reinstalled win7, updated all my drivers, installed SH5, and... still lag and crashes. :wah: I'm wondering if someone can run the Lifeboat test mission and see if the game lags when the ships engage with each other and explodes? I would really appreciate it. Maybe it's this mission that is so demanding... :06:

Ok, I managed to solve my lag and crashes. The solution was to edit out flares and starshell gun. Don't know why this is so demanding on my (quite good) HD6990.:hmmm: I really hope TDW will find a solution to implement flares without lag (I'm not the only one experiencing lag with flares). If someone want help with editing out flares and starshell gun just PM me and i will gladly help you.:up:
I have still the problem with my mouse cursor unattaching from the view mode. This is very irritating, specially when i track a ship with my periscope and suddenly my cursor pops out and I need to right-click again to turn the periscope or when I'm in hurry and the cursor just pops out all the time when I'm trying to run down from the conning tower for emergency dive. I have narrowed the problem to part3 of MMM. I hope someone can help me solve this because I'm so near a pleasant gaming experience now... :-?

MMM p3 is just TDW UI and some of the mods that come in the package. Try using "NewUIs_TDC_6_9_0_TheDarkWraith" instead of p3, and see what happen.

One question, I use the speech recognition mod from Skwasjer. I love to use voice commands for controlling the sub. Any idea when/where to insert this mod in your MMM?

When i try to aim and prepare my shoot , the message box frome the executive officier is in the center of my periscope, and i cant see anything...
Is there any possibility to move it? :cry:

I get CTDs that may be related to fx. I had one ctd when d/c'ed, another one when I have hit a merchant. :hmmm: Both was in single missions. A third crash was in the Gibraltar mission, shortly after beginning. Last thing I heard was a report of a spotted aircraft.

Is there a way to change the dive order teleport mechanics?

I am using Pedrobas" MMM mod. But when I order a dive I am telepoeted to the radio room yet my sub does not dive unless I issue the order again.

Plus, the radio room is a long way from where a skipper would go when the boat dived, the conning tower would be much better. Having a clear the deck command and letting myself down the hatch last would be best of all.

To anyone who are experiencing ctd's. Run the time compression at max 1024 in open sea, 256 harbor areas. Also unistall all vcredist 2008 packages. I had a weird russian version installed which probably caused my ctds.
Oh and hello all, im new. I have the 0.5 aio installed on a clean install and no additions. Skipped the tutorial too.

Weird, i had a crash once too when entering that location, i traveled east to west, through the small S-curl. I saved right before the curl. Second time it worked... Do you have any other programs enabled? for me fraps and radeonpro made the game crash too. (in use with the antilag patch)

I am running 0.5 AIO with the 0.6 base mod update though

After extentive testing i always had ctd's when shipping near harbours and populated areas, the nav map when using time compression starts to lag a lot, most of the times this is where it crashes, when a lot of things are going on.
I think the game engine just can't handle so many mods...

I have been playing SH3 GWX for years, but I'm brand new to SH5 and just starting to use the MMM 0.5 (in parts) mod.

In the first posting of this thread, you display an keyboard image with mapping for SH3 style keys with TDW UI's additional keys added. Is this SH3-type Commands.cfg from a submod of some type? I loaded the five stock parts of MMM 0.5 with JSGME and I now have the new TDW UI keys, but I still have the SH5 style key mappings instead of the Sh3 style key assignments. (WASD instead of arrows for movement, "v" instead of "D" for dive, etc.)

Did I somehow miss a submod or some type of user preference in the TDW UI .py?

I am getting used to SH5's unique interface, but the keyboard differences between SH3 and SH5 are downright annoying!

sabretwo, I have MMM AIO v0.5 and my UI is as the keyboard image you mention, I vaguely recall an option at some point possibly during install to install as either SH3 style, SH4 style or SH5 Enhanced, I chose the SH5 Enhanced, there may be some explanation in the MMM Documentation folder as it contains a readme for all the contained mods.

Thanks. I also installed and set the UI style to SH5Enhanced. However, my keyboard is still the typical SH5 with TDW's additional keys, not what is displayed in the first post.

I opened and checked the Commands.cfg in ...\MMM p3 - Base Mod v0.5\data\Cfg and it matches up with what I am seeing (just in case it was being overridden by something else). Its as if the SH3 style keyboard doesn't exist as an option.

using the aio v0.5 of mmm...
getting the same ctd's when launching torps on both stationary battleships in scapa flow (just seconds before impact the game crashes) - sometimes it even crashes when moving around the area...
4gb patch is applied and just checked sh5 install with tdw's validator and got this error

Thanks a lot! Your commands.cfg entries are different!

Now I'm really confused. :damn: I looked in the TheDarkWraithUserOptions.py file and saw no reference to Commands.cfg files, or Sh-version "style" options other than those provided for the UI style.

Right now I have my UI style set to UIStyle=SH5Enhanced. (default setting) I haven't changed anything except the Scope & TDC dial options.

What is the modification date on your commands.cfg?

I've got 2/17/2012 if thats any use, I'm using MMM AIO v0.5 not the 'in parts' version.
You could always uninstall any mods you have loaded after MMM then try running the
game and see if any change occurs ?

It was the difference between the two versions of MMM. I downloaded the AIO version and compared the files. Sure enough, the Commands.cfg files are different.

I loaded the AIO-version of the Commands.cfg with my current mod set up and save game and everything is working well.

I am surprised no one else noticed this yet.

The only "problem" I think is the man at hydrophone (deaf).
I start listening (personally) hydrophone and I hear a sound contact evident, strong enough. If the same job I do do (?!? :oops:) at hydrophone man he continue to say: "No sound contact".
Ok, at beginning of Campaign the hydrophone man have a low skill but it is impossible not ear some sound contact "strong".
How modify the skill of hydrophone man ????

After about half years I come back and checked SubSim forum and what I found - I found this what I always waiting for - a Super Mega Mod.

I installed my SH5 and downloaded AIO 0.5. Well - I did a few mistakes as tryed to start my first campaign with AIO 0.5 but after few hours I got everythings working.

After 2 days and 17 hours hunting no problem occured, but seems to be that the hydrophone not work me either. Under water i made a test and I didn't here nothing.

My Mod list:
GME 2.6.0.157

MMM v0.5 Base Mod
Open Horizons II full v.1.8
TDW_Mines_Subnets_Detectable_in_Hydro(OH v.1.8)

- Select button on left "Periscope depth" I teleported to the bridge (I was very wet and angry Kaleun after that)
- Periscopes rised without my orders at same times ( not a good if I must to do crash dive or somethink like that)

Is MMM AIO compatible with rubini's crash dive fix? I tried it and got CTD on loading a new campaign.


Also I was a bit confused on the control scheme. Controls listed in DBSM mod were different from what was shown on keyboard image and there was overlap as well. Which one is right here?

And Pedrobas as far as the 3rd link in your sig, the MMM patch for OH2 v1.8, is this the 1.8 update for OH2 or something fixing MMM for OH2 1.8? Isn't the MMM AIO v0.5 still OH2 v1.7?

Any specific order for these mods after MMM AIO v0.5?

Have also patch exe file with 4gig patch file.

Such an awesome looking pile of mods. How I wish SH3 had similar, equally current compilation!

Out of some 20-30 modern (=released after 2006 or so) games I've ever installed, SH 5 is only one I've never gotten to run in stable fashion. I keep getting this frustrating random CTD once every 10-20 times I try using periscope. Very,very lame and annoying.

...This mod soup looks so tasty I might have to try it once more.

Are there mods in here that aren't fully compatible with Steam version?

Would be disappointed if i cant play this game with the mods.

I purchased SH5 from the internet and downloaded it.
I have reinstalled a few times and noticed that it had a problem both times when it was checking for up dates and both times it said if the problem continues then contact Ubisoft.
Only thing is when i loaded the game the problem didn't arise.
Maybe it hasn't updated to 1.2 properly.
It does say 1.2 on the main menu.
Cant find the GU.EXE.
Where is this support file?
My window settings are the same as the game settings.

Are you sure that your computer freezes? It takes a really long time for a modded SH5 to load. It's happened to me and many others. I also thought that there was something wrong. Now I just start the game and make a coffee until it starts.

First of all, let me just hail you for making a superb mega-mod.

I've just bought SH5, and haven't played SH since SH2 back in the days.
I must say, that this game is absolutely awsome!
I longed for a decent subsim for years, and I sotra missed out on the whole SH3 thing. I didnt realize it was so vigorously maintained and improved, and thought it obsolete, despite it's excellent reviews. :doh:

I spent, and still am spending, an awful lot of time in these forums, but without this mega-mod, it would have taken me weeks to figure out what mods to install.

Great work!

I've installed these mods in this order: (please advice if wrong)

1. German U-boat Crew Language Pack (as reccomended in this thread)
2. MMM v0.5 Base Mod
3. MMM v0.5 AIO

Now over to some issues I am experiencing.


1. When loading a saved game, or when ending patrol, it seems to be random (or every other time) that the game loads the coating on my sub. (I use that dark, sound absorbing rubber). If i load game and sub is commission paintet i reload and it usually is applied.

2. Negative reputation.
I chose a rather expensive torpedo loadout for a mission, and used refit, as i figured i probably had enough rep. Well i suppose i didnt. I now cant choose loadout because of negative rep. I cant even buy the free torps.
I can, however, choose "refit" when in sub, and i get the standard torps.
Also it seems rep is not registered proparly, i finished a mission and only got 400 rep? is this correct? It seems I get alot less rep all of a sudden.

3. Crew skill points
At the same time as the abowe mentioned negative rep happened, it also seems my crew get almost no promotion points, where i expect to get lots. EG: i got 1 PP for finishing both "Weserübung" and "Western Approaches". This can't be right, can it?

4. CTD
I'm getting regular CTDs. Thet seems somewhat random, but I think I might have noticed a few reacurring events.

-When i have a hight TC, and time of day/light changes, or message is recieved, and I hit TC1 (enter), It sometimes CTD.

-Random CTDs when looking at ships through periscope.

-Other seemingly random CTDs.

The CTDs are frequent enough to be slightly annoying (not a game breaker), and make me save alot.

5. Lag / Low framerate in busy waters:
I see I'm not the only one having this issue: But I'm getting massive lag/low framrate at higer TCs when in busy waters.
As I understand this is simply due to the massive infoload? Advise to all having this problem. Turn TC gradually down when close to port.
I usually go from 1000-something, down to 500s, when 500 lag, i go down to 250 and so on.

That I think are the only issues I'm having atm... At least that i can think of.

When it comes to the MMM in general I have a few questions I hope someone will answer for me, even though it also touches other thread-subjects, and some of them definetively belogs in some noob thread.(I cant seem to get any decent results in the forum search engine)

(I'm sorry for not reading properly, but I'm getting confused and just need a def answer)
Is there any mod/patch/fix applied to the Crew Skills?
-If so, which, and what does it do?
- Exactly what are the parameters for earning PPs(and reputation)?

Wolfpacks:
I've just started the OHII "Happy Times" missions, and there is a lot of talk about Wolfpacks.
Now, i understand that there are missions later where all you have to do is follow thw waypoints and stuff, but is there any other way to hunt in packs? I mean, can you in any way "invite" other captains to tag-up (in singleplayer, ofc)

Engine/Propeller Noise vs Decoys:
Im just wondering: When I launch the upgraded decoys (can't remember what they're called), I can se them spinning in the water and everything. Now, this is supposed to simulate a propeller, or sub ping signature, right?
My question is; Does it camouflage my engine/propeller noise? If so, to what extent?

If anyone would be so kind as to help me with this questions, or point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

Are you sure that your computer freezes? It takes a really long time for a modded SH5 to load. It's happened to me and many others. I also thought that there was something wrong. Now I just start the game and make a coffee until it starts.

It would seem so.
I tried to remove the mods, and just install german voices and MMM 0.5 AIO,
then i got the ubi-logo and ctd after intro.


As to the rep/skillpoints issue, i dunno what it was all about. After starting moving on to the next campaign I got loads of rep and promotionpoints as I would expect.

I am, however, experiencing alot of ctds. I sometimes have to persistantly restart the game and reload save, maybe 2-3-4 times, before it stops ctd.

One of them was every time i flipped the torp.tube switch(close to a large convoy after refitting once, (not in sub pen)). It was a passing problem however.

Still enjoying the game though. I just wish I could get it to run smoothly.

Yes decoys interfer with the enemy's sonar and cause multiple ping responses to aggravate tracking you.
'To what extent' depends on your sub's noise (engine and crew sounds), so to make a successful escape > go deep and slow (silent run).

As for your other questions I'd suggest you ask Pedrobas, could be related to MMM.

This is what I can contribute with for now. Hope it helps you out a bit.

Sounds like it's working allright, just give it time! The MMM adds a LOT of stuff into the game, so the loading times go up as well. Try waiting for example five minutes and see what happens.

I read the sh5.exe mem fix thing earlier, but I discarded it early as i'm running Steam-version.
As for the CTD when close to port, I also would reckon it's a mem thing.
But i thought i had a pretty decent computer...
PC-specs:

Intel Core i7 860
4GB DDR3 memory (7,99 virtual mem, 5,6 free)
Win 7 64 bit
ATI Radeon HD 5700

i thought this ought to do it.



If i run at lower TC's when rendering busy ports and stuff, I'm all right, usually.

Sometimes it doesnt ctd at all. wOOt!

The torp.tube flip switch ctd, keeps reacurring now and then, but a few reloads and CTDs later, i'm usually ok.
Seems to happen more often on convoys of 4x5 columns or more. But has also happened on lone merchants, and other ships comboes.



and O'glorious Silent Steel, it is peculiar that you say "lose base mod", cause when i remove base, and just rung AIO, i get ubi logo, and stock intro, then ctd. No load screen or anything.

Oh, quick q.
Is the crew skills fixed in MMM (OHII v1.7/1.8)? Anyone?

Hey guys thought I'd give sh5 another go after a long year break, been waiting patiently for a megamod to appear, so it takes the hassles out of trying to get mod orders correct etc..we all know the frustrations..:damn:

Anyway, I did exactly as recommended for the MMM mod, I did clean install of sh5, and edited the .exe file to fix hyrdophone etc..

Only have installed MMM base mod and some of extra mods installed on top, anyway seems to be okay except getting constant CTD's when near a port or encounter enemy ships.

It could be because of time compression i had at about 1024+ so not sure if thats causing CTD's

any suggestions? heres the mod list to be sure anyway:

Hi silent steel..yeah I'm not using the 4gb patch, read somewhere it said not to use it of you have a 64-bit operating system and mines 64 bit from what i can tell! Heres my machine specs:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz
RAM 8GB
2 TB HDD
Nvidia GeForce GTX 580

I will remove the shadow mod for now, and install this 4gb patch (if i remember how to do it again) and try getting near those enemy ports again and see what happens.

If this all fails, might just try sobers mega mod list, seems to be a stable list that one..:up:

As we know the OHII 1.9 is released and we haven't a new patch for MMM - the latest is MMM patch for OHII 1.8...

What can I do - to stay an old version of the OHII or wait a new patch? I like this MMM mod and would like to keep it but I also like OHII and the new version is always better than older so as You see - I have problem.

To get MIA is an obvious evidence of a jaw dropping ruthlessness and lack of responsibility.
With his experience of the deep and skill this is for sure not a credible explanation of what's going on here.

Where are the SAR ships?

So finally after upgrading to 64bit I can use SH5... MMM feels just great, but one thing seriously annoys me:

The recognition manual is broken. When I open it, it shows 3 ships... when I click the arrows left or right, it moves to the next ship, but the ship to the other side disappears together with the scroll arrow... in fact both, the ship and the arrow are still there (I can scroll by clicking where the arrow should be), but I cannot see a thing... impossible to recognize the enemy with this type of manual...

'A la guerre comme a la guerre, soldier, there is no place for tears and snot here. More then 2 months there are no any distress signals, no radio messages, no any news from the SAR ships, so a 'lack of responsibility' should be to count on this unit while planning further operations. May be someday we'll see him surfaced, but now lets leave all hopes for the prayers, go to the deep and sink'm'all:arrgh!:

If serious, I'm sure Pedrobas is OK but strange he didn't post any message about his plans re. this megamod (and its update, technical and other support):06:.

Thank you all for the mods. I couldn't even play the game until I installed this compilation. I have been at sea ever since. I am really looking for new versions but cannot seem to see any as I look through the forum. Specifically a newer version of the mmm and an AI to help the hopeless enemy who can't even fight back I have yet to be pursued by a Destroyer and Im all up in their buissnes, hell they even run from me, It would be great if I could feel doomed or cornered or ....something

Struggling with instabaility after installing mmm, moved to solid state hard drive but still crashing believe problems can be worked out. thank you for responding and helping me. what is needed is a step by step installation guide with screenshots of files in correct configuration, for comp illiterates like myself. currently I'm working on optional mod order and jsgme/mod file configurations. sourced from the "Extras" folder, Oh I do have a question! Do you prefer the documentation be removed from the folders prior to installation or should I lift the data files directly into the jsgme? should all these files entitled Data be allowed to merge in jsgme? (should I rename them?) Was I using an out of date version of jsgme and now that I have installed version 2.whatever will the data files will not merge? I have to go home to find out. work sux. This game that I cannot play is so entertaining. Oh I was using the beta version but I don't think the AI was working. Love Realnav won't play the game without it.

Enjoying every minute of this mod. I wish development would continue. However I have noticed a problem, I have the base mod installed and my deck gun hasn't upgraded :hmm2: ? When I'm at port it says I have the 10.5 installed, then when I look at sub systems it says I have the 8.8.....my upgrades are broken? why? PLEASE help me.

P.S A friend is also playing, he said his sub won't upgrade either. We both have MMM AIO 0.5 installed.

hi, i am new on forum. I have a question. I have installed this mod, but on tactical map, when i marked a ship it not show it speed.
There are information about course etc, but is is "speed: ---"
How can I chage this to see the speed? Or disable just tatcical map mod?
I am not such good player to use 100% realism, but i dont want just see ship in periscope and sink it, it is too easy.

After a year or so and a clean install I picked up the hunting again. Didn't want to bother myself with combining 230832 mods so installed this.

It works great. Just followed the instructions and was back on the sea in no time!

If I want to replace individual upgraded TDW files such as NewUIs TDC ... with the ones in the pedrobas v.5 how would I do that?

Also why are some of the mods in the enabler greyed out when others are not?

The game crashes at any moment in any patrol. Iīm in the first campaign and only did 3 patrols because i have to restart the game every time it crashes and its a pain in the ass!

1) yes, only the MMM mod + shadows improvement which came with the optional mods

2) Boxed version patched to 1.2, did the Ram thing that allows the game to use more Ram. Dont know about the patcher youīre talking about, i just did what the creator of the MMM says in the instalation post

try running w/o the RAM patcher (restore original .exe file)
It has been discovered some time ago now, that SH5.exe came with ability to use more than 2gb of ram already, so when you are using the RAM updater you are reverting this (this actually might be the cause of your problems).

not sure if I would call you 'lucky', but at this particular moment, while bored to death at work, I'm jealous...

Also, try not to put too high TC (above 256); that might cause such crashes too.

Not lucky, the game was running fine but then it just got crazy, the interface turned white and when i tried to load a savegame to see if that solved it, CTD in my face.

Also, sometimes i see a merchant with no texture, maybe its related?

that sounds like badly installed mods, tbh.
I don't use MMM myself, so I don't know (haven't looked really) what is included in there. But you might go through this thread and see if there are others with same problem and see if there is a solution.
Also, when you run the game, I would recommend running Dbgviewer (considering that NewUI is included in this mod it should be in /data/Applications/ folder) when you run the game. That might help detect the problems.

The rest is really up to the creator of the mega-mod, this is a good feedback for him.

Me too, I have also been waiting for years for a supermod for SH5 a la "GWX" or "Trigger Maru", as SH5 despite how good it looks is unplayable out of the box.

I had high hopes for this mod (as I had tried other mods which remake the UI, that happens to be my main source of disappoinment with SH5, and couldnīt get them to work correctly) but after installing the base MMM AIO 0.5 mod via JSGME and trying to run the game I inmediately get a CTD. I also tried installing the other version of the mod (by modules) and the game crashes also upon start.

I am running Windows 7 x64 so memory shouldnīt be an issue. No other mods are enabled.

Could anybody in this forum try to help me out, as the creator of the mod seems to be MIA? I really want SH5 to work, graphically is heads and shoulders above SH3 and SH4, but unless I can get rid of the horrid stock interface I am afraid I will have to uninstall it (again).

My first post so please excuse if it is in the wrong place. OS is Win 7, RAM 8GB, and have installed MMM 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and thelast two mods. In scope or UZO space bar does not hold target. What I mean is the target keeps moving with the yellow or green triangle attached. In gane set up I have not ticked the manual targeting box. How can I succesfully target and sink a ship. Is there a tutorial on this or am I doing something wrong. Have fired all but one of my FWD torps at a target and only scored two hits. :hmmm:

It's not manual targeting but close. You have to pay attention to what you have a lock on and then Break Lock. Then make sure you Turn TDC Off before you fire. If it says Turn TDC On you are then good to fire the torpedo you have selected. Practice in Historical Missions first to get the hang of it. ;)

I have taken 'pot luck' with this and scored some hits but it is annoying that I cannot confirm the ship. :hmm2:

All sorted out. By raising the scope view the target ship comes into view to compare with the manual. Please ignore above post.

Another, probably stupid, question. Have been playing the game (MMM Mods) for a couple of days and noticed that the map shows a dark blue background during daylight hours and a light blue background during darkness. Surely this should be in reverse as is the remainder of the SH series, not necessarly blue but at least darkened when it is dark and lightened when it is light. Not a serious effect but one which is a little 'off putting'. :hmmm:

Have noticed that when I am in map view and place marks and or use the ruler and other tools the indications are very faint. Is there a method to change the colour or thickness of these marks. I am using MMM mods 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. I also receive radio messages even when I am 40 meters deep. Another funny, but no influence on game is the constant report, even when submerged, that 'running on both diesels, making 14 knots in this weather'. The first part 'running on both diesels' comes over in spoken German and then the complete text comes in spoken English, not Kosher I think. :down:

I planned to restart my hunting after many months brake. I reinstalled my OS so I need to start all from a clean table.

There is released Open Horizons II Full v2 and as we all to know MMM only to provide OH_1.8 path so about what can I do - can I to use Open Horizons II Full v2 or the older version 1.8 with MMM?

I'm just installed SH5 with updates and made the tutorial and I am ready to install all MODS now but first I should to know about what mods I can to use without big problems. Everythings is ready - I only needs Yours advise...

Brand new SH5'er, but knowledgable enough to know one has to have good mods. In fact, I didn't buy SH5 until I had researched the mod situation.

As the notice states the problem is with the owner of these files posting them in such a way that they exceed the host site's policy on downloading of multi-part archives, unless the downloader wants to pay for a one year subscription to the host site.

Fortunately, the all in one version of MMM is downloadable.

Just writing to hopefully clear up some confusion, now shoving off to fight for the Vaterland - hopefully check out this most interesting mod. :D

I've tried three times to unpack MMM v0.5 AIO.part01 and each time I get:
Some files could not be created. Please close all applications, reboot Windows and restart this installation.Please advise on how to resolve this.

The failure occurs just at the very end of the unpacking, there is just a sliver showing on the progress bar.

Going into 7-zip directly and Extract Here was successful.

Argh... Im looking at these mega-mods and all of them have a huge install checklist.

Starting up a 747 is easier.

I miss the GWX installer, one click and it's all done for you.

What happened to Pedrobas? Haven't seen him around for ages :nope: Hope he's ok.

I'm using this great mod. however I had probs with the in parts download, but managed to get AIO working. I still get the occasional CTD but nothing serious.

I haven't been around for a while either and noticed OHv2 is out, however pedrobas's mod has OHv1.8, I'm not sure how to work around this and get OHv2 in there so I took all optional mods out and enabled OHv2 over the top of the MMM base mod(AIO) then enabled the optional mods, the logic being hopefully v2 has just over written the v1.8 files and updated them with the extra stuff thats in v2 over the top of v1.8. So far it works, not seen any barage balloons or whales yet though :hmmm:

I'm really loving your megamod, pedrobas, but i'm having a small problem.
Not even a problem. I would say, rather, an inconvenience.
I first downloaded the mod all in one but personally didn't like the UI and Das Boot sounds so i downloaded part 1, 2, 5 and 6 instead. It works great except for the water color. I really liked the green underwater color but now its more of a deep blue color. Is there a way to have the green underwater color without using the full mod?

My bad, i found the problem. When i was testing, i was in deep waters, which seems to affect the color of the water. In shallow waters, it was nice and green. I feel like a derp right now :/\\!!

I have pedrobas's AIO MMM loaded so thedarkwraiths UI is included in this, the minefield map works, I've never seen any mines though!! it also has Stormy's brilliant DBSM in too.

The only concern I had with it was the fact that the AIO MMM has no parts so you install the whole thing including OH II v1.8 and I enabled OH II v2 over the top of v1.8!! I wasn't sure what effect if any this would have but it seems to work so I'm guessing it just wrote over the v1.8 files and updated OH II to v2....what do you think?

Taking the plunge after ordering the sim (I have all four previous editions but was wary about 5), and now want to use it with this respected mod. But I am stuck with by the "Split Archive" fail at the only DL site linked on first page I can find. The AIO version dls parts 1, 2, and 4 - but consistently fails for me with 3. I dl-ed the standalone parts, 1,2,3, and 5 with no trouble, but get the same "Split archive" rejection trying to get either of the two files for Part 4.

Is there a trick to getting past that? I see that some have been able to get one of the two choices after failing with the other. A different download site? Any ideas when both fail?

Thanks Silent Steel! That's a relief. Your link is working for the mod in individual parts - Part 4's 1 and 2. (I was able to dl Part 3 yesterday from the original link at the top of this thread)

It was late when I posted, and hould have been more clear about my problem with the AIO version. It's part 3 of that version that I kept getting the "Split Archive" warning. I was going to use the AIO version of MMM first, with the standalone parts as backup in case of other preferences or conflicts later.

Do you have an alternative link for that AIO Part 3?

As I haven't downloaded the AIO I don't know if this comes in parts?
Isn't the idea of having an AIO that you should have the option to get all parts in one package? :hmmm:

Yep! Thanks SilentSteel. I have them all now as separate file archives, thanks to your link to that one that suffers the Split Archive fail. Enabled them, trying first just part one as directed at top of thread - after copying over the German language and movie files.

Unfortunately, I got a completely graphically garbled indecipherable Bunker scene after starting a new campaign and selecting "skip tutorial." Enabled all of the mod parts, but with the same result. Then I added a newer OHII for the old one that is packaged with MMM, and started a new campaign w/o skipping tutorial. Those scenes and the sim are NOT garbled graphically. Frustratingly, the sim crashed two or three times while compressed time traveling to Kiel after finishing the objectives - just north of the mouth of the harbor.

I was daunted and it was late, so I had failed to heed the instructions to patch the SH5 exe. Guess it's time to go ahead and do that as well! At least I hope that is the reason for the CTDs.

As the MMM part 3 comprises the New UIs by TDW and this is quite heavy on your rig one option I can recommend is to replace it with the CSP Magui Interface for SH5 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=181370) even if this version v2.0 still is a beta. A v3.0 isn't far away and should be released shortly.


To get rid of the 'skip tutorial' once and for all go to;
C:\Users\Documents\SH5\data\cfg\CareerHistory.cfg
Open it with Note Pad and

Save the file.
Now you shouldn't have to 'skip tutorial' anymore.

Thanks again for the helpful explanations. I have patched the SH5 exe and also reliably get the "Skip Tutorial" popup, or go in and change the false to true entry in "Career History" (this file must change for each new career start, correct?)

I have isolated the Bunker screen corruption to either of the big environment mods - Real Env or the MMM use of Dynamic Env. Without these, and even with an early attempt to create a set of mods independent of one for environment, all seems well steaming out into the Baltic. I am getting a CTD when clicking on one crewman whose arms are sticking out sideways and is otherwise motionless, unlike the other crew members. But for this, no CTD when on the bridge, in camera view, or inside the boat - time compression or not.

In an Environment mod thread, I was told that the corruption is due to lack of RAM (my specs are in below in sig) - from Trevally. Also suggested was deleting the data/textures folder, the data/terrain, and/or data/config/lights.config (from gap and Volodya).

I will try all these suggestions after backing up files. Already am Administrator, but trying the 3 gig switch, get this at command prompt: "bc edit is not recognized as an internal or external command..." Unsure why.

However, also posted was this from Volodya: "I'm running XP and have the same card - GT430 and only 2 Gb RAM..and everything fine with full DynEnv and full OHII and NewUIs." (Actually that's a slightly less capable card than the 460).

My attempt at a full MMM mod with OHII failed; it wouldn't even load. Next I tried a slight variation, with the included Dynamic Env mod - in MMM Part 1 loaded last. This CTDs while in the Bunker (at least it isn't a corrupted screen though!):

The mediafire link is blocking some of the downloads. It says something about some parts being overdownloaded or something? Im not exactly sure what its trying to get across, but it sounds to me like you need a new mirror for it, or at least get someone to host it for you. :hmmm:

Ive got all the parts except the SDBSM parts, both of which are cut off.

Uhmmm...I'm a bit scared...RAR processing log reports some errors on unzipping parts 3 and 6 of MMM, "characters too long", plus many request of over-writing when unzipping part4 - section 2 . Is this normal?
Assuming all is ok (but I don't think so...) what are the right steps to install and enable this wonderful...beast?!? :haha:

After other two cycles of de-reinstallation, I still have some problems:

First of all, unzipping MMM p4 - Sounds - part2 with win7, the extractor itself shows the message "BaseMod05\Data\Sound\Speech\Navigator\Tension\Esti mate_range_to_contact.ogg - The file is damaged."

Second: When enabling in JSGME MMM p4 - Sounds - part2, GME asks me if I want to join the folder with part 1 (they have the same name...it's obvious), and if I want overwrite file with the same name, or not, or to mantain both...what I should do?

Third: I have enabled all the mod in the list of the post #958 together, and then played game, docked to Kiel, at the end of tutorial, I have no other mods installed other than these. Should I activate the mods once at a time, and try to play every time a mod is enabled, or is possible enable them all together?

Fourth: I have not downloaded the patch of Large Address Aware; Is this a problem? My computer specs:

CPU: Intel i7 860, 2,80 GHz Quad Core
RAM: 12,0 GB
Graphic Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX660Ti
OS: Windows 7, Home Premium, 64 bit.

First: You're right, there is something strange with the ' MMM p4 - Sounds - part2' Don't know why.
I've tried to upload it several times now with the same result. :hmmm:
The .rar file I've got on my HD is OK...

Second: When JSGME asks you if you want to add it to the part 1 you should do it, yes.

Third: All the mods should be possible to enable together :yep:

Fourth: The patch shouldn't be a problem.

I just started the first campaing with realism set about 65%...but it's quite hard to survive...just for example, with crew at battle stations, flak gunner in place with the orders "Fire at will - long range - everything - closing and going away", a couple of Hurricanes sent my sub in the bottom of the sea in a while...:o better not to speak about my aiming capacities with scopes and UZO...I will do better spitting with a peashooter !!! :har: :nope:

The fact is that I am used to the automatic firing solution of SH3...it's simple...when it reaches "000" it is a certain it.

Is there some way to enable that function? :hmmm:

I suppose the game is mind-oriented to skilled players...I suppose I will have to watch and understand many tutorials on how to manage the TDC and enter a good firing solution.

Well, I'm running this mod also.....and loving it, although I have added to it somewhat.

Anyway, the way I use auto TDC is to get the target ship into the UZO or periscope and press space bar, this will lock it up. ID the target, then unlock the ship....space bar again. Your TDC should have a firing solution in it now. Then aim at the point of the ship you wish to hit and the TDC will give the torpedo the correct gyro angle, and fire. As long as the target ship doesn't alter it's speed or heading you should get a hit. :hmm2:

You shouldn't ever choose to take them on, most likely you will regret it if you do :yep:
If there are no other options - man the FLAK

Dear Silent Steel, I was bewildered my gunner did not opened fire at all !!! So we had a shower of four rows of 0.303 bullets !!! :down: There were no deads, only injured, but the sub sustained too much damage, simply...

I read all the explaination post and advises, but I'd like to know: is there the mnts mod in v 0.5 ?

At the moment, I'm still using v0.3 of this great compilation and it works fine with mnts in part 5, but I would like to update it. (v0.5 has to be better for sure)

Pedrobas explain that he still working on a part 6 with mnts in v0.4's post, but don't tell anything else in v0.5's one.

I really like mnts mod: it gives more ships and it's very nice mod to see ( harbors are awsome for exemple)

Tell me please I'm wrong. tell me please that mnts works in v0.5

As you can see your mmm is still very much the flavour of the day even though it is badly outdated.
Any chance you will come back to being an active member and update this (I see you were last on board on the 26th Dec).

If not - would you please allow another member of this forum (someone worthy:03:) to continue your good work and keep this mod going.

Would any of you please step up and take this mod forward. Keeping it up to date would now be easier than it was for pedrobas as the rate for mod dev is reduced.
If pedrobas gives permission, you could start a new thread and get a mod to close this thread.

I'm still using his AIO v0.5 mod and have been updating it by adding newer mods after the MMM however this is really not an ideal situation and I wholeheartly agree with Trevally here.

This great work needs a proper update by someone that knows their mod stuff.
